I have a Maytag stackable washer dryer Model #MDE2400AYW A repairman has diagnosed a problem with a rim that goes around the front of the dryer barrel which rotates the dryer. The bearings have worn...

If you need the whole housing we have it available for about $45. But usually you just need the bushings $35 part # AP4045830 . If you enter your model # at www.appliancehelponline.com diagrams will come up on the left hand side you will see the housing and the bushings that support the front of the drum. There are also videos of repairing similar bearing types. All parts come with installation instructionsand are ready to ship. It is an easy inexpensive fix.

Our dryer is overheating, after 20 25 minutes then we smell a burnt plasticy smell, then we let it cool down, start again, it goes for awhile, then stops, then again overheating, then the smell again.

Firstly, you need to stop running your dryer before you do any further damage,

As you haven't specified your brand or model of dryer, I can only give general advice. It's likely that your thermostat has failed in the closed (on) position. The thermostat cuts power to the element when your dryer reaches the correct temperataure.

Most dryers also have a thermal fuse to cut all power to the dryer if they overheat. This functions as a backup safety device and this only usually trips when the thermostat fails. Your dryer is stopping because the thermal fuse is cutting power, but as you can smell burnt plastic, it's likely some damage is being done before the thermal fuse trips.

Stop using the dryer, and check/replace your thermostat.

Stackable washer/dryer

hi..
When your dryer drum isn’t turning anymore, it’s usually a broken belt. Tearing the dryer apart is usually straight-forward enough but stringing the new belt on the motor and idler pulley can be tricky. The Complete Encyclopedia of Dryer Belt Configurations shows the belt configurations for almost every dryer brand you can think of.

this will fix ur problem..
thank u rate me

Gas smell

Fire Hazzard ? YES !! Sounds like the ignitor is taking too long to lite the gas. This lets the gas trickle into the machine. It is very important to the operation that the ignitor lite within 30 seconds on the first try and within 20 seconds thereafter.
