I convinced the folks @ Syntax I was a repair guy and paid for a manual. They sent me wrong one, but I've since found several other Olevia service manuals on line. All have NO schematic and provide no insight beyond: is it plugged in? if No, plug in; if Yes, get a new PS module. I've opened mine up and the fuse is bad. Replaced it and it blew instantaneously... see nothing obviously bad.

Some other manufacturers offer detailed TS info w/schematics...

I have a 2.5 years old LT42HVI that has the same problem: no power at all. The replaced fuse burnt instantaneously when I flipped on the power. I called support asking for replacement power board but the tech keep telling me to call back later so he can check for availability of power board. From what I can see posted (Olevia reorganization), it looked pretty slim that I could get support from Olevia people. I am now looking for the power board schematic so I can fix it myself. I figure that the worst I can do is fail at reviving an already dead TV. So, anyone know of, or found a schematic please point me in the right direction. I'll appreciate very much. Meanwhile I'll keep on surfing for the answer.

I ran into the same problem on my LT42HVI. Thought I had it solved with a new PS board from electonica-usa.com, but turned out to be model FSP271-4F02 (instead of FSP271-4F01). So no go there. I am returning this board a will inquire as to availability of the correct one and post later.

Anyone find any other solutions in the mean time?

If it is a power supply issue go directly to the Manufacturer FSP USA. Get in contact with the RMA department and for about $20 dollars plus shipping one way you can get your PSU fixed. Turn around time is about 3 to 4 weeks so be patient. Once fixed they send you an e-mail with tracking info. I did this an probably saved hundreds of dollars. The removal of the PSU from the TV is pretty straight forward, 4 connectors and just a bunch of screws. Keep track of the screws and where they go also take a pic of how everything was connected to you can reference to put it back together. One warning stay away from a company called Discount Merchant to try and buy a new PSU the sell refurbished junk that does not work. I tried buying from them a replacement PSU that was DOA and they did not want to refund my money and it was a huge hassle and I had to involve the BBB and my CC company to get a refund. Save yourself the nightmare and go through the Manufacturer. Below is the email contact info incase you cannot find the website.

I need one too, it's a shame to throw this 5 year old TV away. It was purchased in Wal Mart in San Mateo CA area. I'm sure there's thousands of these units that will eventually need a PSU.

sunny_outdoors@yahoo.com contact me right away before I have to use this as an anchor in the ocean. This is not a joke. pls help me

My 42 inch olevia 242fhd-t11 tv just shut off and will not come back on.. The blue led light will not come on either... Also was having intermittent sound issues for the last couple of days prior to it not...

I just repaired this identical problem on the same model TV. You have a bad power supply (also known as an SMPS). The board is model FSP271-4F02, and is about $75. Unlike the main board for this TV, you can find the power board relatively easily. Try shopjimmy, for example. Replacing the board isn't too difficult if you have a reasonable mechanical ability, have some tools, and are careful.

Olevia tv won't power on

Power supply will be the first palce to look, it should have 5,12v, and 24vdc at the output connectors. Look for bad caps with bulging tops, burnt parts, blown fuse.

Look at the power supply first; look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc.

Back light go black

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Our olevia tv is going black, has no picture, but does have sound. It keeps going black off and on. What is happening? Thanks.

The backlight inverter board can be bad or the power supply for the inverter board is bad. Check the power supply first since it is easier to get to than the inverter board.

TV does not appear to be powered. Either fuse or power supply

The fuse is in the power supply. It's a slow blow fuse rated 250V 5A.
