Playstation 3 My playstation is not reading any disks anymore. Nor Dvds or games. Just yesterday it was perfectly fine. What should I do _?

My PS3 just quite reading any disc. It accepts the disc, but it doesn't even show up on the main menu screens that a disc is inserted. I reloaded the default hard drive (starting from square one) but that didn't do anything.



It started as a problem in recent weeks where it would freeze on Madden 09 about halfway through (my last 9) a game and you had to shut it off to clear the screen. BD movies were having problems as well that they would freeze, etc.



Now there is just nothing. The disc(s) go in but nothing registers. HELP>

My PS3 was working fine. i had it for about a year then it started freezing a few times when i was playing fallout 3. i thought it was just the game or mabey i had too much on the hard drive so i deleted a few things but it kept happening. then one day it froze and i did the usual power off then on again, except the game wouldnt show up on the screen. i played with it a bit and tried multiple other games and dvds and blu-rays but nothing would show up. and to add insult to injury it happened a week and a half after the 1-year warranty ended. it seems like alot of people are having the EXACT same problem, i have read a few blogs about it on this site and others. it seems like sony should do something about this. im kinda pissed that i hafta pay 150$ and be playstation-less for a few weeks, for a problem that isnt even my fault.

is there anything i can do other then send it in or buy a new one?

do they sell the blu-ray players seperately?
