Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook

1 Answer

I have a Dell Latitude D630, and I have had it for less than a year, and my charger is broken. I have it plugged in and everything, and it is not working. I plug the adapter into the outlet, and the green light on the charger does not turn on. When I do plug it in, the charger makes a small quiet beep sound.

Sorry, i have to say this-- make sure the outlet works-- or try out a different outlet. :-)

ok, then make sure the connection is tight between the 2 parts of your adapter, it may have come loose.

other than that, you have a dead adapter. laptop companies are very good about replacing them for free under warrantee. they dont want fires starting at someones home because of a 30 dollar part.

i just called my laptop company, hp, 1 week before my 1 year warrantee ran out, and they shipped me a new power adapter, free, overnight.

call dell, tell them, they'll ship you a new one with usually free shipping, and usually in a day or two tops to your door.

Dell LATITUDE d630 Static noise

You may want to reinstall the audio driver into the system to see if that will resolve the issue. Another step to try is to plug the system directly into a wall outlet bypassing any power strips or surge protectors to see if that could be causing this to happen if is not already plugged.in.

My Dell Latitude D630 spacebar came off. Nothing looks broken, but I can't get it back on.

If the hinge parts are not broken and are still in place then place the space bar over these parts, align it so it is in the correct position then press the space bar down until the hinges click into the space bar.

How do I replace the keyboard on a Dell Latitude D360? I have the new keyboard, just not sure what steps I need to take to install the new one.

I believe you refer to Dell Latitude D630 not D360 as I did not find the latter among the models.
As for the Dell Latitude D630, please refer to the following section of this model's service manual:

I changed the battery on my D630 and lost the date & time. I assume the cmos battery is bad. Where is it located on a D630 and what is the battery #?

CMOS Coin-cell is located under the keyboard. You have to remove the hinges cover and keyboard to access the coin -cell

Please study the following two links giving clear instructions about changing the coin-cell battery of Dell D630.

Let me know if any clarification is needed. Hope this helps!!

My dell laptop fell off my bed and now my screen is broken.. is there a way i can get my pictures off?

Provided the screen is the only thing damaged, you have several options.
  1. Connect and external monitor and use it to see what you are doing while you copy you photos to other media. (Fn+F8 enable external monitor)
  2. Remove the HDD, connect it to another system using a USB adapter, and copy your files: http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Drive-Adapter-Serial-ATAPI/dp/B0012TOG08
  3. Replace the broken lcd: http://cgi.ebay.com/DELL-LATITUDE-D620-D630-COMPLETE-LCD-WARRANTY_W0QQitemZ220582533329QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item335bbe58d1
