Wipers dont work changed wiper motor fuse and still dont work

Does it have relays on 1989 honda civic

  • Anonymous Jan 31, 2013

Did you test the new motor before you intalled it? Need the diagrams to see all the items in the control circuit. Having someone say you have relays is of no value to you. You need to see it on the prints & find in the car & test every item in that wiper circiut including wiring

On a car over 15 years old the odds are the wiper motor failed

You need wiring diagrams to work on electrical

You have to see what is in the circuit you need resolved

No one can tell you how to diagnose things, you follow a
procedure that work for you

Don't change any parts

That is not how you work on a car
Learn how things work & test to confirm failure

Your not going to have relay failures as you read about
on these sites, too much bad info talked up on here

A fuse will blow if the motor or any motor fails,so that could be
a key do not replace a fuse,go to what it controls such a the motor
& try unpluging it & use the wiring diagrams to put power to it

SOURCE: window wipers dont work i changed the wiper motor

the switch or the relay. Check if power is comming to the relay. If it is then the relay is faulty. If not then it's the switch. If the wiper's won't work at any speed it is most likely to be the relay because if it is switch then the wipers should work at some of the setting's hope this help's. Cheer's

SOURCE: where is the the wiper motor on a 99 honda civic

Back of engine bay and base of the windsreen you will see some plasic covers known as scuttle panels, you may have to remove the wiper arms first (10mm M6 nut under the Black circle cap on each arm)
The motor will be the size of a coke can with Silver linkage bars going to it

2002 intrigue wipers / washer dont work

It can be faulty wiper motor or blown wiper control fuse.

Do you hear any kind of noise when you starter the wiper function. If yes then fuse is ok,but issue is wiper motor.
If no movement at all and no noise then its blown fuse or shorted/loose wiper control wiring:-----

Winshield washer motor does not run

The wiper and washer motors us the same fuse. So if the wipers work, it's not the fuse. The washer motor wiring, the top wire is voltage, bottom wire is ground. As you can see, at the wiper/washer switch, #5 sends voltage for washer motor, you can see the wire colors. If good voltage and ground and no washer action suspect the washer motor. Before replacing anything, make sure the plumbing from washer fluid to windshield is not clogged.
