I book 2002 when to the apple store they connect to the net i came home and its not working. is it a possibility it could be my modem

You'll need to set up the internet connection. Connect your modem, and open 'Network Utility' (/Applications/Utilities/Network Utility). Follow through the steps and you should be able to connect fine.
If not, the people at the Apple Store are always very helpful. Explain what type of modem you have and they'll be able to give advice.
Does the modem/internet connection work with other computers, out of interest?
Hope that helped!

Hello, I am downloading a document from the internet and the download time is ridiculously long. How can I enable a quicker download time?

Call your service provider and have them upgrade your wi/fi service for more bandwidth.
Look at your wireless modem/router to see if your on the G or N speed. A/B/G will be slower.
Change the location of your laptop so it's closer to the wireless signal or alternatively go to the coffee shop or hotel and use their free wi/fi as their speeds are faster.

I use mac os so i want to connect to internet so give me solution for setting to wi-fi broadband

It depends where you are. If you are in a place with public wi-fi. You will need to learn the name of it. Then go to the light grey pie slice on the top right of your screen (to the left of the speaker icon) and scroll down. Make sure that Airport is turned off and scroll down to that wi-fi name and select it. If it has no password the grey pie icon should turn black. If it has a password, then you will need to put it in to make the wifi work. Again if you are in someone's house or school with wi-fi the same applies, you need to learn their name of it, go to that pie slice at the top (which will be light grey) scroll down. When you select the correct name the light grey pie icon will turn black. That means you have the internet connected!! In your own home or apt. unless your internet provider (cable or dsl) gives you a router, you probably will need a router (I use an airport extreme or express (router) with my mac) to be wireless. Then you will need to use the MAC airport utility to set that up. If you do not have it you will need to download it.

Hello- I have a ibook G3 running 10.3.9 and the wireless connection stopped. I changed out the air card, still nothing. Could this be a firmware issue, or a bigger hardware problem?

Try disconnecting the air card and pushing the wire back on it firmly.  Click on the wi/fi and type in your password.  Could be the little wire for wi/fi is broke.  Check Apple web site for updated drivers.  Update your OS to Tiger 10.4.11 if you got a new modem.

Installed Parallels on mac but cannot connect to the internet.

When running your mac in the windows mode, insert your mac os dvd into the drive. It will launch the program to install all the software and settings to make your windows os very "mac-like".
I had the same problem. Mac has thought of that for us! Insert the Mac disc, let it fully run it's installation WHILE YOU"RE IN Windows os. It'll set up all the settings for wifi and everythng that one would normally have to set up in windows.
If you have a printer that you want to use on the windows os that is already working in the mac os, you can download a copy of bonjour from apple. This program will get your printers up and running as well in os.

Just bought the apple ibook g3 clamshell

If you can detect wireless connections in your area, then you have a wireless card in your Apple.
You cannot connect to the Internet unless you have a DSL or cable modem that connects to an Internet Service Provider.
You can connect to the Internet using a public access WiFi hot spot, these are located at McDonalds, Star Bucks and at the airport etc. and some Internet Cafe. There maybe some charges for these Internet connection.

Make sure you log on details are correct. Confirm the dial out credentials. The line just needs a dial tone, which you can test with a land line phone.

USB external modem

The phone connection would need to go through the blue tooth regardless of if you're using the phone connection or not. Check to see that you have bluetooth turned on and setup first. Then you'll need to use that to create the settings for using the phone as a modem. However, if you are using Windows on your Mac, you will need to make sure that your computer has the drivers installed to be able to both connect to the Internet and to connect to your phone. Once that is set up, you still need to go through the steps to use bluetooth to connect your phone to your computer, establishing a connection. There are quite a few articles about creating connections through your phone as a modem.
