Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook
When I try to boot my Acer it gives me a blue screen and will not allow me to go any further, not even in safe mode. What can I do to fix this problem. The problem says I need to uninstall AVAST.But I can not gat my OS to boot up. I am running Windows XP. How can I fix this problem............
Try reinstalling the BIOS. macles.blogspot.com has good info.

What's the 1st thing you see when you try booting? it should be black with white words detailing your boot cycle. if youre not seeing this, its hardware.
hopefully your blue screen comes later, which means it's more likely software as windows is trying to load. I assume this is what it is since you see an avast error.
i think F8 is safe mode-- are you sure you're pressing F8 every second or two as it boots to get into safe mode?
what did you do right before this started happening to you?
