Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

I've had the Samsung L200 with the same Panasonic 1GB memory card for the last 3 years and it's been great, but all of a sudden today it started saying 'memory full' after only taking a few...

The camera is telling you that the internal memory is full. To get your card to work, you must clear it. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, your card should work unless you formatted it in the computer, in which case you'll have to format (completely erases it) it in the camera.

Trying to take picture but card locked is on how do I take it off

SD type cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.

I have a samsung l200 and when i scroll through ther pics on the camera it will freeze up

It is your memory card in your camera. I would donwload the pictures to your computer first. Then insert the card into your computer and format the card. The problem is that your card is corrupted somewhere and it needs to be re-formatted.

Where is memory card opening?

Looks like it's in the battery compartment. Here's a link to the owners manual for your camera:
