Question about Danby DDW497W 22 in. Countertop Dishwasher

1 Answer

Danby ddw497w will only be about 5 min into cycle when digital code E2 appears it then starts beeping 2 min after this it just stops the unit is only one day old it ran once yesterday fine now i get this code no matter what cycle it is on I bought mine new off the internet and it's been running great for about 2 months. Now I can't get it to drain and E2 shows, I can't get my money back because I've had it more than 30 days, if the solution is a pump, I'm tossing it and getting a good one from another company! I know the hoses aren't kinkind and it's worked well till today!

E2 is a hose issue. There is either a kink in the hose, the hose is too high to drain or the pump is faulty.

My danby countertop dishwasher ddw497w turns on, drains the water in the tub, refills and right before it usually fires up. click and nothing. just sits there with no fault code. any ideas before i sm

Hey Derrick,

According to the manual:

http://www.danby.com/cms/documents/pdfs/en/DDW497W_EFSOM.pdf

The most likely cause is the appliance not being leveled properly. Apart from that, I have found no useful information.

If you have a smart phone, try using one of the various, 'Surface Level' apps which will allow you to set your phone on the top of the appliance and then adjust the level until the bubble is centered in the crosshairs.

Hope this helps.

I have a Danby DDW1899WP portable dishwasher. I just got it yesterday. I had a lot of dirty dishes so I did 1 cycle first and it worked perfectly, I was impressed. I then started a 2nd cycle for the rest...

I realize the above question is almost 4 years old, but I am sure others are still having this problem. My Danby was behaving the same way: drying cycle light would flash like it was having a myocardial infarction, and the cycle would stop. I could only get the light to stop flashing by turning the unit off. What you didn\'t say above is what happens then: everything most likely returns to normal-- or at least, so it seems. I have now had this happen to me two times in a row with my Danby 1899WP. Each time the machine has started up just fine, drains water out, loads in fresh water, and begins the wash cycle, only to freeze up with that damn flashing red light on the dry cycle and the dishes not clean. I have owned it for about two months, and so far this is my only complaint. I am running it again right now, for the third time, and we shall see what that light does now.... Will report back afterward!

What does an E3 code mean?

hello,

what this mean is an indication of a problem detected b the sensor

Some models of washers come with a digital readout display that informs the operator of the unit's function and any errors.

Error codes indicate that a problem has occurred and should be addressed. Different models of washers may vary in their fault displays.

Some washer models use flashing lights at the unit's start, door lock, wash, rinse, final spin and control indicators to display error codes.

thanks

About 20 minutes into a cycle (I usually use a rapid wash cycle-P3) the machine makes a loud clicking and grinding noise that lasts for about 1 minute. Any ideas what this could be and how to remedy the...

Danby customer service told me that it was built into the machine. The machine would shut off for about 15 minutes after that loud noise occurs. Then would finish the cycle after that point? Got infants, buy one of these products! LOL

I just spoke with the Customer Service rep from Danby... She said tht an E2 error has to do with the hoses. Usually it means that the hose is too high to drain properly, there is a kink in the hose or the pump is faulty.

Hope this helps!

E3 code

Received from Danby customer support:
"The error code of E3 tells us that the unit is not getting the proper water temperature to continue thru the entire cycle. Before starting the dishwasher and attaching the quick connect assembly to the faucet, please make sure that the water from the faucet is warm to the touch; you can then attach the quick connect assembly with hose to the faucet and start the unit. If the water temperature does not reach 120 degrees F the dishwasher will not be able to run thru the entire cycle properly. If this is being done and the same code comes up, we will need a service tech in you area to diagnose the problem for us. For a warranty servicer in your area you can reach us at 800-263-2629 Mon-Thu 8:30-5 or Fri 8:30-4 EST."
