My phone goes into a sleep mode if it sits for any length of time going into my voice mail if anyone tries to call me. What is this? Then while on the phone always during a conversation it cuts off and this hour glass starts spinning and it won't stop then when it does it says verifying security software. It sounds like it has a problem with the software. I would try to reload the software and see if it takes care of the problem. You will need the Blackberry Desktop Manager and the latest device software which you can download for free from Blackberry.com. The links below will take you to the downloads of ATT and T-Mobile

Here is my problem I can't get any calls the go derect to my voice mail how can I fix it, I can make call but no recive please help me

I'm sorry to hear you are not receiving your telephone calls. As I understand your quesiton, you say all incoming calls go directly to voice mail.

I do not have experience with your make or model but I want to try to help you solve this trouble.

I have had several cellular phones that offered a feature called "Answering Machine". When set in "Answering Machine" mode, I could not receive incoming calls. All incoming calls went directly to my voice mail. I learned this when I inadvertently set my phone to use this feature. I turned it off and I started to receive phone calls again immediately.

I can't say this will solve your problem, but I hope it leads you to a solution. I know how frustrating it can be when you depend upon your cellular telephone and it doesn't do as you expect.

I hope this is the answer that fixes your situation. You may have to call your service provider for a resolution.

Extending Ring Time

You can try the steps below:

A) The simplest method is to call your carrier and request a longer ring time, up to 30 seconds.
B) If you have a GSM based phone, some have had success by dialing this number from your phone: **61*XXXXXXXXXXX**30#
  • Replace XXXXXXXXXXX with the number of your carrier voice mail center (find it by looking at your Phone Dialer > Options > VoiceMail > Access Number. Put your access number in place of the Xs above.
For example, the T-Mobile voice mail access number is 18056377243, and thus the string to dial would be **61*18056377243**30#
  • Replace the 30 at the end of the string with your desired seconds. For most carriers, 30 seconds is the longest allowed.
  • NOTE: Has been reported this doesn't work for Rogers (8700r) . 6/17/2005. Morser

After sitting for a while............

I think your phone is going into to keyguard mode. Push the Red power button on the top right of the keyboard. Should come up with a keyguard lock screen at the botton of the screen. Push the center button on the 5-way navigation and you phone should function normally until it goes into to keyguard again. You will find the settings under preferences to either turn keyguard off or to adjust the time on it.
