I have a DSL-2640R router and want to use port forwarding to an IP Security camera. I have set up a link to my camera using 'mysite.dtdns.net. but entering this only accesses the router, requesting a router login! Need urgent help; D-link tell me they cannot provide support and that I must go back to TalkTalk and vice versa.

    Aaaagh!

    Please help.

    Regards,

    Richard Spencer

Go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and then have them type in that ip address. if you have had them typing in your internal ip address that will not work. Try the ip that that website tells you is yours. Also do you have it forward port 80 to your computer? also you should set up DHCP reservations for the server. Hope that that helped.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Is it possible to connect wireless broadband internet with a laptop through D Link hub DE 809TC

The D-Link DE 809TC is a wired hub - it does not include any support for wireless connectivity.
On the back of the device you'll find nine RJ45 Ethernet connectors. Eight of these connect to arbitrary local network devices and the hub distributes any network package directed to the local network (regardless of its origin) to all of them. The ninth connector is an uplink. It receives packages from/to other networks.
This is *all* this device can do; forward packages to all other devices on the eight internal connectors or from/to the uplink port. It has no logic to selectively forward packages to dedicated ports (that is what a switch does) or connect to DSL service providers (like a DSL router).

For your problem you would need a router with wireless LAN support, e.g. D-Link DAP 1360.

I have a sentient 4 channel cctv DVR with networking. It works ok locally but, I am having problems setting it up to view via the internet. I have a wireless router with a static IP address. I have tried...

have same unit colin and was a nightmare to sort but finally did it.
you need to set up port forwarding on your router and set up dydns account and switch on the service on your dvr. enter details on dydns page on dvr.
if you cannot log in via web address provided by dydns try entering your ip add with port your forwarding like this 89.79.89.87:9950

hope this helps
