Click Start>Control Panel>System>Click the Hardware Tab, Click the Device Manager, Look for the item that has a question mark.
Go to Toshiba's website, download the driver and install it.

I replace the ram from my laptop toshiba satellite pro-300 but when i start the computer by recovery disk it freze after loading files

If you have more than one memory stick installed, test the system with a single memory module at a time:

Take out both modules, install a single module and turn on the system. Try to restore

If it fails, turn it off, disconnect battery and adapter. Take out the same memory module and install it in another memory slot

Turn it on again

Repeat the same steps with another module

System restore will not restore to ANY point it says it encountered an unspecified problem TOSHIBA SATELLITE PRO L300

Hi There,

I'd like to qualify this answer as a trouleshooting attempt rather than a solution to be judged with negative feedback. Sometimes, Toshiba OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Software can interfere with normal Windows Programs. A possible way around this is to use Safe Mode.

1. With your computer completely powered off, push the power on button and hit the F8 key repeatedly until a screen appears with choices to boot Windows from Safe Mode.
2. Using the arrow keys, navigate to "Safe Mode with Networking" (this allows internet access in Safe Mode) Hit the Enter key.
3. Once arrived at the Desktop, go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore and try the System Restore from Safe Mode.

If this is not successful, you may have a virus (many of which often attack and disable System Restore).

4. If you have a hidden virus, you should download this program in Safe Mode to find out:

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

If Malwarebytes does not find a virus then your issue may be difficult to diagnose from here.

Best Regards,

Selk

Toshiba satellite L300 black screen. Tried the 0 key and it only goes 1/3. thinking booing/registry corrupt. No recovery disk or software came with my laptop. O/S is Vista I have data and photos that...

Yes everything will be wiped out, once you do the recovery. It will reinstall the factory settings.
You may try this first; Turn OFF the laptop, remove the power sources (ac adapter and battery). Without power sources, hold power button 10 secs. Put back the power sources, then try to boot from safemode. Tap F8 upon booting up to enter the advance boot option. Select safe mode, save your files once loaded in safe mode. You may first try the system restore from , go to start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system restore, select the previous date the laptop was working fine. If this will not work then the last resolution is the recovery.

Hope this helps.

Takes more then 1hr of logging off

Have you already checked it on safe mode? if it is similar problem, you can do system restore.but, just to remind you that don't just proceed for system restore as it will delete your current data depends on the date that you will restore. If your'e sure enough that no datas affected during this procedure then, you can proceed. Cheers!!

How do i set my toshiba satellite pro L300 back to factoery settings

Put the original restore CD into the drive and restart the computer. It will then go into a "restore mode" and allow you to erase everything and start it over like it was brand new again. If you don't have the restor CD then you could use any copy of a Windows Operating System (XP, VISTA, 7) to reset it all
