Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
It happens when the console is moved while the disk is still spinning. you need to wait until about 30 seconds AFTER you have turned the 360 off before moving it or this will happen. the disk wobbles and touches the plastic moulding inside the 360 dvd tray causing the ring.
ive allways had problems getting these repaired, gamestation do a disk cleaning service for £2.50 but ive found its only 50% successful and not guaranteed to work. you might want to contact Microsoft and explain your 360 is scratching your games and they might replace them free of charge (not guaranteed but my brother got his games replaced this way).
