Forgot linksys password

Here ya go this should help you out. I think the username is admin and the password is blank...depends on the model. Let me know if you need more help. Don't forget to rate this solutio with 4 stars before logging out. The default login information for Linksys routers depends on the model as shown below. Default user names:

• Linksys BEFW11S4, WRT54G: admin
• Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Ethernet routers: Administrator
• Linksys Comcast routers: comcast
• All other Linksys routers: [none]

Default passwords:

• Linksys BEFW11S4: [none]
• Linksys Comcast routers: 1234
• All other Linksys routers: admin

Where the word [none] is listed above, no name or password is required. Simply skip or press the Enter/Return key when prompted for those settings

Reset your Linksys router back to default:
The easiest method of resetting your Linksys router’s password is to reset your router back to the default factory settings. This is done by simply holding down the reset button located on the back of the unit for at least 30 seconds. Once the router has been reset, it must be reconfigured. Using your web browser go to URL address http://192.168.1.1. You will then be prompted to login to your router. A log-in screen asking for the password will automatically appear. At this time enter the default password “admin”, in lower case letters into the password field. The username field may be left blank at this time. (Note: both the default username and default password are set to “admin” on some of the newer Linksys router models).

The default password (or the password which has been set by you previously) is not getting accepted by the router either due to firmware issues or simply because you might have been entering the wrong password. Hence the above error.

Please try the following:

1. First you need to hard reset the router. Press and hold the 'Reset' button with a sharp object for 90 seconds continuously. The first 30 seconds of the reset process should be with the power cable of the router plugged in, the next 30 seconds with the power cable unplugged and the final 30 seconds the router should be reset with the power cable of the router plugged in.

However, remember to hold the RESET button continuously for the entire 90 seconds, even as you plug/unplug the power cable. This should reset the router to factory defaults.

2. Then try to access the router's web interface 192.168.1.1. Generally, there is no username by default for linksys router. The default password for the linksys router is "admin"

Since the router has been hard reset in step 1, step 2 should work and you should be able to access your router's web interface.

Depends on age of router. Older ones had blank username and "admin" for password. Newer ones have "admin" for both username and password. Of course this is only if you've totally reset the router to it's factory defaults.
