Sony T5 Button Problems

Hi, I own a sony T5 5.1 mega pixel camera. I bought it almost 2 years ago and last year i dropped it while i was travelling and the lcd stopped working. I then sent it to sony to fix it and it cost me a bomb! Last weekend, i took it out to take some pictures and when i got back ...i transferred the pictures from the camera to the computer. Everything was working well including all the buttons and all. I was playing around with the buttons after that to check out the flash (higher + or lower -). I just switched it on an hour ago, and for some reason, the menu button, the delete button, display button and the zoom out zoom in button are all not working. The buttons for the flash, micro, timer etc are all working adn i can still take pictures with the camera. Can you please help me with this as I am completely clueless when it comes to cameras and I really don't want to send it for fixing again as I paid quite a huge sum the last time. Thanks.

Re: Sony T5 Button Problems

Well if the repair was recent- you could send it back to be fixed properly at their expense -check them out but if no joy - new camera time

Please go to Setup menu and select Initialize option to reset camera to default settings that might solve blurry picture problem, if that does not help then its technician job to adjust focus of camera.

I bought mine 2 1/2 yrs ago too. Found this solution on this site and tried it. It worked perfectly.
Turn to TV mode, set the exposure to 15 seconds by pushing the little "arrow dial" until you have 15"
Push the button to take the picture.
Wait 7 seconds from when you push the button, then turn over and open the battery door while it is "taking the picture."
Close the battery door and turn back on.
I did this three times and the last time, it worked and the iris became unstuck.
Then I took a million pictures to get the iris moving.
Good luck!

Turning the camera on

I have had this problem with both a DSC-P72 and a DSC-P92 (same camera but 5 Mega pixel) They do need real good batteries, when the camera shut’s down I can run MP3 players or flashlights with those batteries for quit a while before those devices are dead.

I was traveling overseas once and installed “fresh” carbon batteries and the camera wouldn’t work at all. I had no photos on that trip until I found some alkaline batteries.

I even have bought 2 “dead” cameras to find that they work fine with REALLY GOOD batteries. So try it again before dumping the camera.

Sony DSC T-5 Cybershot

I called Sony, did what they said, and now my camera is working just more blurry pics. Go to menu, click arrow right, click arrow down 3x till you get to "Setup 1," click arrow right scroll down to "Initialize," click to right, select OK, press center button. This initialized everything back to default settings and now I don't have blurry pictures anymore.
