Reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure it. In case it doesn't work then try upgrading the firmware on the router. This should fix it.

Compatibility with high speed ADSL2 Broadband

Yes, Linksys WRT160N is 100% compatible with ADSL2. Linksys WRT160N is a Broadband router.

you will not be able to use the linksys WRT160N, as an ADSL2 modem router. you should be using an ADSL2 Modem separately and connect the cable from the modem to the Linksys WRT160N. Hope this clarify the doubt.

WRT160N setup does not recognize my Motorola cable modem which I use to connect to my ISP (Comcast). Any ideas?

Hi, it should do, have you got it connected up properly.
Phone into modem
Router into modem
pc into router
Turn each of these in order as above and wait a minute for each.
let me know what happens.

Just bought a HP Laptop along with a Linksys WRT160N router. Currently have a Dell desktop w/service by local cable company. CANNOT get this router set up to get internet on the laptop. Help?

Hi! I will be more than glad to assist u in this concern..That is right! if u bypass the router it will work, the reason why the modem wont talk to the router bcoz the router is not properly setup.. if you are using a cable modem from ur cable company provider- u need to do a mac clone on the router ,u have to clone the mac address of ur dell desktop computer which works with the local cable company... normaly the mac of ur computer is the one register to your cable company and on the setup page of the router just select on the internet setup, dhcp after clonning the mac address of your computer. u need to connect ur computer directly to the router and then after doing the process connect the router to the modem.

HP printer cannot find access point and I'm not sure what to do.

You must first connect your printer to the pc using usb cable, then run installation wizard that is on the CD that came with the printer.

Wizard will guide you through the setup orcess where you will provider your routers ssid (linksys) to your printer, and your printer will use that ssid to connect to your router.

After the Wizard setup is done, it will tell you to disconnect the usb cable and only then your printer will work on wireless.

Good luck,

Limited or no connectivity to the internet. my setup: the telephone port is approx 30m from where i need internet access. Originally I had a dlink wireless router set up but was connected via cable, now...

On which port of the D-link router did you plug the WRT160N router?

Do this setup.

Disconnect the WRT160N from D-link.

Connect a computer to port 1 of the WRT160N. Access the setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 on the address bar. you may need to type in the username and password for WRT160N. on the setup page Change the LAN IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1. save the settings.

Connect a cable from port 1,2,3 or 4 of the D-link router to the Internet port of the WRT160N. turn off everything then turn them on starting from cable modem>D-link >WRT160N then computer.

You should be able to access the internet.
