Kenmore side by side water dispenser not working

My water dispenser stopped working. My wife and I were gone for two weeks and had the heart turned down so I assumed something was frozen. I checked the tubing in the freezer door going to the dispenser but it was not clogged. I then heated up the water resevoir in the frig side and the water still didn't flow. When I push the switch I hear a click but nothing else. Could there be something wrong with my solenoid and if so how do I troubleshoot?

Kenmore side by side water dispenser not working, but ice maker works. Push the lever and just a click -- nothing sounds like it is engaging.

I had the same problem, and now I have it fixed. Its about 80.00 in parts and 15 minutes of labor and very easy. There are two pumps that can go bad and its best to replace both at the same time. The pumps can be gotten at any appliance parts store. Sears will charge about twice as much as a independent parts store.

To start with unplug and shut off the water to the unit. First remove the brown cardboard vent panel on the rear of the unit, it is held in place with about 8 hex head screws. You will see the location of the first pump on the lower right hand side, it will have the water supply going to it. Disconnect the water line (make sure its off!) the pump is held in place with two hex head screws that need to be removed. Once you remove these you can slide the unit out. Disconnect the power to the pump by removing the quick disconnect plug on top and disconnect the water line on the bottom of the unit. Replace with the new unit in the reverse order. On to the second pump, which is on the left side and is slightly tucked away. Remove the small corner brace it has a couple of hex head screws. There is one screw and a metal stud holding this pump and they are a keyhole type. Loosen the screw and slide the pump out. It is kind of in there odd and takes some josiling around to get it out. Disconnect the power plugs on top, one is green and one yellow. Disconnect all three water lines but do not get them mixed up when installing. Replace with new unit in reverse and remount the pump. (FYI my old pump was a slide on water fitting and the replacement was a compression nut fitting. To get around this slide the compression nut over the water line, insert the line in the pump as far as you can and then tighten down the compression nut.) Connect the water line and turn it on, and check for leaks, power up the unit and test.

A valve controls water flow into the ice trays. It is a common source of the trouble you describe. You may be able to get an overhaul kit for just the valve

Kenmore coldspot water dispenser stopped working. Ice maker works. What could be possibly wrong?

On the rear of your refrigerator there is a dual water control valve. One side for ice maker and one side for water dispenser. I believe your side for the water dispenser has failed and they come as a set. Send the Kenmore model number and I will find you one. The number will look like this, 326.256489 for example only. Found near the bottom of the fresh food section door. Thanks, Sea Breeze

The ice maker stopped working on my Kenmore Mod 106.55532400

either your water valve is clogged or it has gone bad, located bottom right corner, you can take it apart and check the screen filter if it is not clogged than you need a new valve approx 72-80$ plus install unless you diy!

Kenmore Refrigerator stopped dispensing water

Either your water tank in the fridge froze up, the waterline that goes up the freezer door from the bottom hinge froze, or the switch that your glass hits is damaged. Do you hear any humming or noises when you put your glass up to get water?
