I have a Canon Imagerunner 1310 and I am getting a message that my waste tomer is full and that I need to prepare a new drum. What does this mean? Can I do it on my own? Will I need to buy something?

Most of the time, if your copies are good, all you have to do is dump the waste toner from the drum. Slide the top to the left and raise the blue cover on the right. Lift the drum and developer unit out of the copier. At the top of the drum you will see a quarter size white plug that should be removed and gently turned over and gently shaken over a trash can to empty the drum. It doesn't have to be emptied completely. If your copies are bad then the drum has to be replaced. Not that hard for the lay person. Lift blue clips and the drum separates from the developer assembly. There was a Canon modification to use two small screws to keep the drum and developer together should the blue clips move out of position. These may have to be removed and put back. Raise the drum guard to make reassembly easier.

We have a drum that doesn't want to go back into our Canon Imagerunner, Help!

The drum unit and toner/developer unit must be securely latched together. It is not uncommon for the rear side to become loose from each other. Reconfirm propper attatchment of these two units and try reinstallation. Please let me know.

Blank sheets when Copying on the Canon Image Runner 1310.

Hello sir; I would like you to check the charge corona wire inside the drum cartridge or you just replace a new drum cartridge, before you change also check the discharge corona wire at the bottom inside the machine.

Imagerunner 1310 drum change

To change the drum you have to slide the plattened cover to the left, like you do when removing a paper jam, open the top cover, you will see a handle that you pull to remove the defeloping and drum unit, remove the drum and def unit.
The drum is attached by two clips on top of def unit, unlock the drum from the def by releasing that clips, slide te drum protecktion plate to the rear and remove the drum.insert the new drum by reversing this steps.
If your image of your copies is not bad you can remove the waste toner in the drum unit before replacing it.On top of the drum there are two plugs open them and remove the waste toner, make sure you remove all of the waste toner. Then that message will go away.
