Question about Robert Yick Co. RanRYC168 Gas Kitchen Range

Fire Safety Concerns

I intend to install the Robert Yick Wok Range in my solid oak butcher block kitchen work table. I have plenty of space but I am concerned that as it will get very hot it might not be a good idea for it to be surrounded by wood. Thanks for your ideas. Mundi

Re: Fire Safety Concerns

Check this link; The wok model is approved for zero clearance installation by the AGA and CGA. That means that regardless of worktop etc material, it can be right next to the unit, so long as you do not modify the casing of the unit in any way. here's the link to contact the AGA if you want more info; The other thing to try if you want reassurance would be to knock up a simulated worktop out of cheap wood/plywood just to represent the bit near the range, and use it carefully for a couple of days just to see if there is any problem. It should be fine. Hope this helps :)

Have a glas fireplace insert that a kids rubed a acrylic blanked up against when extremely hot and now it is baked onto glass surface.

Chip it off with a single edge razor blade ... I suggest you get the holder for this blade at your ACE or other fine hardware store in your area. Spend about $4.00 to prevent injury.

Oven turning itself on

sounds like a short in awire or possibly the control panel, definatly not a normal issue and for sure is cause for alarm. i would strongly reccomend calling the manufacture and raise concerns for the safety of your home and moreimportantly your family, they take these sort of safety concerns VERY seriously(consider there position of liabilty incase of accident) ..
