Most likely a common problem of a broken fuser drive gear. This is especially true if the lead edge of the paper is stopping at the fuser assembly. This is the assembly that is hot to the touch. There is a upper fuser roller drive gear that breaks on these and causes the fuser roller to stop turning. So everytime the paper gets to the rollers it stops and a jam reults. The gear is 16.00 at precisionroller.com part number M510X
Here is a picture of the gear.
On this model, the fuser assembley is mounted to the machine mounts, two of them inboard and outboard.
If the fuser gear is not cracked, this fuser is driven by the white small drive gear on the machine.
This rests close the drive gear. Sometimes you can hear a thumping noise which is coming from the gear skipping over the fuser gear.
This gear needs to be replaced a very involved service process.
Call Xerox for further repair if this is the case. Also behind this gear are many other gears that can cause this same problem. Very involved and time-extensive to repair even for a trained Xerox technition.
Usually you can find the place to put the part by noticing the location of mounting holes or an obvious space on the fuser where it should go. Otherwise you might check with some of the places that sell replacement fuser assemblies. They might be able to send you an exploded view of the fuser.
your fuser unit is not working .open and see your thermofuse, thermistor or your heater lamp is out. if there is dirty between your thermostart & your fuser roller, clean . check for continiuty on your thermofuse & fuser lamp. thanks
Turn power on and within 4 sec.press the following sequence;clear, exposure, clear, exposure. The screen will go blank.Enter '1' and '4' then hit print.turn off. This will reset H4 if the fuser has no problems such as a bad fuser lamp or thermal fuse. And yes it,s worth fixing with the right guy working on it!
More than likely you have a bad fuser gear. It will break teeth, crack and not drive or the tab that inserts on the roller to drive it has snapped.
You have to remove the back cover to unplug the fuser then there are 2 screws that hold it into the frame.
The gear is on the right side of the fuser.
The price of the gear is less then 20 dollars.
On the XD 100 if it is jamming when it is just entering the fuser, check the gear on the end of the heat roll.
Those frequently crack and or flat out break off.
That gear is easily replaced and inexpensive. If you require information where to purchase one, let me know via a message here.
I checked and you can purchase that gear for $14 or less.
