my car shut off while I was driving, it started back up but now the check engine light is on. Could this maybe be the fuel pump?

These cars are ****, I just had my fuel pump replaced today for the SECOND time, it went a year ago. I did NOT pay them for it, the crank shift sensor has been fixed twice so far. I'm going out this weekend to look at cars and get this lemon off of my hands.

The tank does not need to be dropped. There is a access panel either under the cushion of the rear seat or in the trunk. I have to replace the pump on my 02

Do you have to drain and drop the fuel tank on a 2005 Nissan Altima in order to change the fuel pump? Also where are the crankshaft sensor and the fuel pump relay located. Thank you for your help.

yes you have to drop tank to replace fuel pump and filter as it is one unit pretty easy though.

crankshaft sensor is either under the harmonic balancer pully or bolted to block facing it you normally have to pull pully to change sensor but some you dont you will need a puller and a installer if you have to pull the pully

relay should be under the hood in relay area

if this was helpful please give me a good rating

Where is the fuel filter on a 2005 nissan altima

The fuel filter is located inside the fuel pump on a 2005 nissan altima. The fuel pump is under the back seat. You must remove the bottom cushion on the driver side. Before removing the fuel pump you must remove the negative battery cable and relieve fuel pressure

Fuel pump 2005 nissan altima

Take it back to where you had it serviced. They probably simply missed connecting the fuel level sensor. The engine light is probably from a missed emissions hose that goes to the gas tank.
