Question about Power Acoustik PTID-8960 Car Video Player

Have one wire for audio sub out, but two input ports to amp

Have a power acoustik PTID-8960 and attempting to install. Have 4 amps, 1 for the front speakers, 1 for the rear deck speakers, 1 for 2-12" subwoofers, and 1 for an additional 12" woofer from a mono amp. I understand how and where to hook up the front and rear speakers (including the 2-12" subwoofers) but am uncertain how to install (hook up) the mono amp for the single subwoofer. The amp we are using for the single subwoofer has two input ports (positive and negitive) but only one output wire from the head unit ("Audio-Sub-Out). How do we hook up?

    Graindart,

The head unit output is a single RCA plug. The amp input has two seperate RCA ports. On the output side of the amp is where we can hook up the speak pos/neg wires.

This one Wire should be for the +. Try connecting the + to the Head Unit and - to a Common Ground. At the Worst, You will Blow the Amp Fuse if not Correct. The Lead from the Head Unit is Only an Off and On from the Ignition. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Ok, That Makes more Sense! This is Set up just like a Subwoofer for your Home Unit. No Problem. Your Amp is a Dual Signal Amp and you are Connecting 1 Woofer, All you will need for this is 1 RCA Cable. Connect it to Either side on the Amp. Since you can hook up Multiple Speakers to this Amp and You are just Connecting 1, This is all that you Need. The Dual RCA Cables are Simply for Left and Right Speakers. Just Connect your 1 RCA Cable and you should be Just Fine. Make sure and Turn the Gain down ALL the Way before Starting to Fire this 3rd 12". The 12" is going to get the Full Power of the Amp and Could Blow the Voice Coil out if Started with the Gain up. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Is the head unit output an RCA plug?  and the amplifier input speaker wire inputs?  If so, you'd need to find an RCA to speaker level wire adapter.  If I remember correctly Walmart usually carries one.

SOURCE: Speakers are thumping and cracking when powered up...why?

you are better off setting your deck speakers amp to a high pass filter setting on the amp. Adjust gains to increase desired bass and clarity. Turn off loud button if you have one, that will distort your deck speakers.

Bridging two12" subs and one 15" sub to my Rockford fosgate T 1500bd amp

assuming all 3 subs are 3-4 ohms, running all 3 in parallel (the 3 positive leads all attach to the amp positive terminal, and all 3 speaker negative leads connect to the amp negative terminal) will bring you at or above 1 ohm, which the amp is capable of handling. With 1500 watts, you will want to use 8 gague power leads for the amp, 12 gague speaker cables, and an inline 120 amp fuse between the amp and the battery, within 1 foot of the battery.

I need operator's manual / instructions for Sony CDX-GT11W

The operating instructions and installation guide for the CDW-GT11W are available from the manufacturer's support site: https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=CDXGT11W&template_id=1®ion_id=1&tab=manuals#/manualsTab . Click on the Manuals, Specs & Warranty tab. I needed to refresh the next page to download the manual (click on the circle with the arrow going clockwise). The direct link to the manual is currently https://docs.sony.com/release//CDXGT11W.pdf .

I hope this helps.

So how do wire this set set up to a bridged amp any help would be appreciated

assuming that is a dvc dual 4 ohm speaker, and you have a 2 ohm bridged amp, you run a positive from each side of the speaker into the bridged positive of the power amp, and run a negative from each side of the speaker into the negative bridged terminal of the amp. if, indeed, you have 2 4 ohm voice coils, running them bridged in parallel wiring will bring the load to 2 ohms. if you have 4 voice coils, of 4 ohms apiece, you could run all 4 parallel into the amp, but that would bring the load down to 1 ohm, and you would have to make sure you8r amp can support 1 ohm operation.

I have a boss 400w riot 2-4 channels, how do i connect the high level wires? Because stereo doesn't have rca's

to use the high level leads, you have to isolate the wires going to each speaker (if using 4 channel mode) or isolate the wires going just to the rear if you are using 2 channel mode. you have to strip a small piece of the insulation off each speaker wire, and run it into the amps high level input harness. if you dont have the high level input harness, you can get a 2 channel high level to rca adapter for around $20. basically, you are tapping into the signal to the stock speakers to feed music to the amp. make sure you get all your positives and negatives correct. brighter wires are usually positive; however you may be faced with sa speaker which uses a grey wire, and another grey wire- the second with a black line. you will have to, again, turn to internet research to determine which is positive and negative, if the colors are not obvious.

Lightning audio b150.2 as soon as +12 is hooked up blows 25 amp fuse and the c2 1000uf/35v capacitors blow???????

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Double check all connections .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you.

RCA CABLES

RCA cables are the best way to get the audio from your head unit to the amp. If your head unit doesn't have RCA outputs, you might be able to use the speaker outputs of the head unit to connect to the "high power" or "high level" inputs of the amp, if the amp has such inputs (check your manual).
