Get an updated driver from usa.canon.com

http://www.usa.canon.com/opd/controller?act=OPDSoftwareAct&fcategoryid=2279&modelid=6290

In printer properties, device settings, press get device status. The driver should auto-configure with your correct finisher details.

Use the print driver's layout or finishing tab to set two sided print.

Need to change my print size on my C6280 Photosmart All-in-one printer, make it larger

It depends on what you are printing, but generally this needs to be adjusted in the software you are using.
If you print pictures or photos, you have to find an option to scale the printout up, either during printing, or beforehand.
If you print PDF documents, in the Print dialog box there is an option to "fit printer margins" or "auto-adjust to printer size" or something to that effect in every PDF reader application. If however the document is formatted for your paper size it will not be scaled, and if it's formatted for an even bigger sheet size, it will scale down the printout.
If you print documents from Word, there's no easy way to make the printout bigger - you can change the font size to a larger one in the whole text, but chances are, that this will ruin the text formatting.
In Excel there is an option to scale everything by a given percentage, which will automatically tile the table into as many sheets as necessary. and then the area will be printed on as many paper sheets as necessary to get
There's no one solution, unless your printer driver has an option to do a fixed scaling - but this will usually be sensible only for enlarging printouts that occupy a smaller area on paper, and you want them to use the maximum paper area. I'm sorry, but you have to experiment a bit to get the hang of it.
Good luck!

Reinstalled printer after having desktop cleaned

Hello,
Your printer must must be connected to the computer. Does the MFC say Check connection? The Brother software must be installed. It creates a folder called ...\Control Center 3\Scan inside the user's My pictures folder where the scanned pictures are stored. That is what I get when I use the Scan button on my MFC-5460CN. If you use the Control Center you can choose the target storage location as well as the picture format (.pdf, jpg, etc.)

Hope it helps

I want to scan an multiple images and save it to a PFD format.

You , nor anyone else, cannot scan and save as an ADOBY PDF file. To creat a PDF file requires either the ADOBY writting software of another software that saves  in the PDF file format.    Scanners take a picture of what ever is layed on them and copies then by breaking them into  millions of dots and then saving as a picture in a format such as JPEG.   Sorry

Hello sir

Here is a link to Canon Support for your printer:

Pixma ip1700 Support

Click on the "Drivers & Downloads" tab. Select your operating system.

You will then get a list of available files to download. When you download them, it is best to select "Save" and save it to your computer. Either your desktop or a Temp folder where you can find it after you download it.

There are also pdf links for setup and quick start guides.

Don't take Printout of PDF file from refilled toner

It is possible that from your PDF files, the printing preferences are not configure to print the right cartridge. Before you click the last OK to print from a PDF file, click on Preferences of the printer and see if there is a tab to set the right cartridge (color or black).

Lines showing up in printout

Hi, I would suggest you update your printer drivers, try this, follow instructions exactly as written:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop(watch for the light yellow bar at the top of window viewing pane, click on this and choose – download file - . Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.
