HELP!!! Now I really need help...turned on my computer this morning it was working fine for about 10 minutes...then it froze up...tried everything, nothing worked so I shut it down...when I powered up again the Toshiba screen came up the computer started loading (blue bar at the bottom) then stopped finally the screen went blank with only a little white curser in the upper left hand corner. I shut down again several more times only to have this happen every time. I tried F8 to get to safe mode...nothing...I tried f2...the screen came up...but with my limited knowledge of computers I wasn't sure what to do with it...I tried f12...it did not come up. So I resorted to the recovery disks...followed the instructions on the case...nothing happened. What short of a new computer can I do now??? All of these wierd things have been happening since my first post in November! PLEASE HELP SOON!!!

Re: HELP Computer frozen!!!
Hi...there... let me ask you first..what kind OS that you using now for A105 XP or Vista? ' cause i think you have problem with your Operating System that seem your OS is broken and need to reinstall. first you must buy OS Cd same like you using before and MS Office Cd to for work with office.
Isuggest you to use original cd both for cd OS and Office. about your A105 driver you can put latter (if you have) or download it with typing at search egine (ex:google) " driver Tosibha Satellite A105" and chose driver depen the OS that you install for your A105

Power drain would be a better solution in this case. 1.first shut down the comp 2.unplug the charger 3. remove the battery and after press and hold the power button for 60 seconds without any charger and the battery. After the 60 seconds replug the battery and the charger and turn the computer .
Mine froze once too, all you have to do is take out the battery for a few minutes, it resets the hardware...it is not a software problem like many people think it is, it has worked for many people and my touch pad has worked fine since and it has been almost 10 months.
hey, this is not a problem of "windows" or something. it is a hardware failure most probably. Sorry to say that you can do nothing but tuurn it off (hold the power button till it turns off) and let it cool down for a few minutes then restart it. if it still doesn't work, contact DELL support...
do you mean frozen on acer logos ?
it might be you hdd isnot detected in bios. your hdd might be dead.
Try to remove the hdd and turn on, if it is past acer logo, it's mean your hdd isnot detected and might be dead.
About the button, you can hold power button for 10 seconds, it will turn off.
We can start with the easy stuff first. Move the memory chip to the other slot. Remove the small square plate on bottom of the laptop. You'll need a really small screw driver for this. If you have two chips, remove one and see if the laptop will boot-up.
