The tail light circuit is separate from the brake and turn signal circuit. Either the bulb socket has gone bad or a wire has flaked out. Check for voltage at the socket on either pin base when you have your parking lights on. If voltage is present, it is either a worn socket failing to hold the bulb properly, or another bad bulb. If no voltage, determine which wire on the other side is tail light power, and run a new wire across to the side that isn't working and connect it to provide power.
There is 2 screws located on the side when you open your tail gate by the tail light. remove these 2 screws and pull the tail light out and disconnect the wire connector. Hope this helps.
Try replacing the passenger side tail light bulb.
Inside trunk, remove two black plastic nuts holding carpet liner in place on side where bulb is burnt out. Pull back carpet, use a flat screwdriver to pop out the wiring. Remove three nuts using a small open-ended socket or pliers. Pop out entire tail light assembly. Locate bulb to be replaced. Rotate 1/4 turn to remove from socket. Replace bulb and repeat in reverse order to reinstall. Thank you for using fixya and good luck
Open the tail gate, and you will see on the side of the tail light housing two screws that you will need to unscrew in order to take the housing out. If it is the tail light ,that is on the actual gate, open the tail gate and remove the plastic bed liner there are few of screws that need to be removed. Hope this helps you fix it.
Daihatsu Charade EL 2003 rear lens removal. Open the tailgate and remove the two bolts securing the lens assembly. Then get a good hold of the lens and pull out. You need to pull out the whole lens assembly since there are three plastic protruding 'clips' on the side along the lens. Please view attached pictures. Then turn the bayonet bulb holder, replace the slide on type bulb and reassemble everything back in place.
You have to remove the access panel on the interior side of the passenger compartment to access that connector.. it's a simple procedure after you see the wire harness and bulkhead boot.
