Check its connecting wire [AV cord] first for any internal breakage to its conductor strands. Try with a new AV cable. After connecting the cable with TV and DVD player, switch the input to TV to AV. Power On the DVD player. If all connections are OK, you should see the brand emblem display of the DVD on TV screen. If not, make sure that there is some fault, either with TV or DVD player. On the back of the set you will have the ports labelled like HDMI, Component RGB etc., HDMI is a single cable that connects to the HDMI port of the tv and the player. Component RGB consists of 3 video cables redd, blue, green and two audio cables that go into ports labelled R and L at the back of the tv. If its none of these please describe what the cable looks like so that I can tell you which input to select
are you talking about VCR / DVD or DVR source. for VCR or DVD your connection shall be for VCR, cable out from the TW box to VCR in and VCR out to TV (VCR ch selector and TV must be set to ch 3)......... DVD connection out from DVD to TV's yellow/white/red (digital in on TV), to view dvd using remote change source to the digital source (av1 or av2)... for the DVR you must call TW to make sure your box is set up to record and view....
On a DVD/VCR combo unit....the Component Output (RED, GREEN, BLUE) is exclusive to the DVD player section only (VCR can only output analogue source) and will only be able to view DVD.
To watch VCR, you will need to connect to your TV via Composite (YELLOW) cable, into the Yellow AV input on your TV. You can then tune the VCR section to match your TV's RF input (if you prefer this connection).

If you are trying to view the DVD on the Samsung TV,
you need to firstly connect the DVD to the appropriate connection on the TV.
Once connected, with a Samsung TV, you need to press the
SOURCE button on the TV remote control to view any external sources such as
your DVD player.
The ‘NO SIGNAL’ message would indicate there is no signal,
if you have not tuned your channels in, this may be the digital tuner you are
viewing. Press the source button whilst a DVD is playing in the DVD and see if
an image displays.

If I'm right On the DVD recorder there should be an aerial input and an output. Connect external aerial to the output then run a second from the output to the TV. Then use the HDMI to connect the DVD. This will then give you the option of recording one channel on the DVD whilst watching another thru the receiver thats built into the TV. You will then get the best poss picture when viewing DVD
