I have an Acer laptop computer that stopped being able to connect to wife all the way. It says I am connected but then tells me I have limited or no connectivity. Why?

This error occures when your laptop has not been allocated an IP address from your wireless router.
To fix this, right click on your wireless connection on the Task bar and click Repair. The wireless router will then issue a new IP address to the wireless card in your laptop.

Cannot get my new laptop to use my wireless connection to my adsl router- wireless g old laptop using xp no problem

Hello,
For connecting new laptop using windows 7
Goto Control panel-Network and Internet--Click connect to a network on left side of pane--It should show all the wireless networks including your adsl router--Click connect it would ask for security key-Enter your security key for router-You should be able to connect.

If unable to find wireless network of router then try following steps.
> Turn off laptop
>Turn off router and modem (Disconnect power cable)
>Power on router first then laptop
>Then follow first method.

I have a dell inspiron1300 laptop pc.This problem has just developed. When I turn on it won't connect to the internet(wireless connection) until I click ''repair'' on the small connection icon at the bottom...

This can happen when both the wireless router and the laptop are powered up together. The laptop boots up before the wireless router can issue the laptop with an IP address. When you click Repair the LAN card requests a new IP address from the router and then the laptop can connect to the Internet.

I get this problem sometimes and then I have to click Repair.

Try leaving the wireless router powered up or power up the wireless router first. I suggest rebooting the wireless router approx. once a week, the wireless router will then be issued with a new IP address from your ISP, this makes it difficult for hackers to hack into your wireless router/network.

Setting up wireless connection

First check to see if your windows can see the wireless router. Does it see the router? Click view wirelss networks to see a list of available networks. If you cant see any make sure your wireless network is switched on.
Also which manage s your wireless network, the windows or the wireless cards own software?

Laptop.. cannot connect to internet

if you want to use wireless connection you have to have a wireless router, and you connect your internet cable into the router, so after you can have a wireless connection with your laptop and his wireless card, and you can work with your laptop everywhere in your house.
you can buy a wireless router in every computer shop.
last thing if you have a desktop PC you can connect a new internet cable to the wireless router (type RJ45)
I hope this helps
Please rate accordingly
