I bought this pc in 2 hand,is a packard bell imedia 5070 and , becouse of avg anti virus software and the previous owner erased all the updates of the computer, now the sound doesnt work,no headfones or...

With the limited information you have, I would ask if you have the original Operating System setup disk (ie-windows xp, or win7, or the OS of your choice. When I buying a second hand computer, I would highly recommend formatting the hard drive, and a fresh install of the entire system. Not only will you start from scratch, and have to undo any problems that the former owner had or caused, but you just never know what may be on a computer. There could be hidden viruses, porn stashes, and only God knows what hidden there.

If you have the setup disk, insert it, restart the computer, and follow the prompts to format the drive and re-install the operating system. If not, try to find one. If you're brave, format the drive and install Linux. It's not too hard to learn, and will probably save you grief in the long run. That last bit is just a personal opinion though.

Let me know how it goes

My packard bell imedia pc has lost the ability to play windows sounds and any sound from the internet. I can still get sound from media player 11 and realplayer. i'm using xp home and the sound card is...

Go into device manager, (control panel, system, hardware) double click your sound hardware, go to the drivers tab, and click roll back driver. Once this has completed, go to microsoft update, select the 'custom' option, and run the scan. This should produce a list which includes an update for your realtek; click the little "+" sign beside the update and select "Do not show this update again". This should prevent the update from being installed in the future, and your sound SHOULD be back to normal. I have the same issues with some of my older systems, some of Microsofts' updates turn out to be incompatible with the hardware, usually in the sound department.
