O NO! It's not broken. It just came unclipped

  • chanisalsa Jan 31, 2009

I took it to the Geek Squad and they were able to just snap the key back into it's origional place. As I mentioned it was just loose, not broken; No Super Glue just snapped back into place.

This happened to me recently. If you can't snap it back on then it means it has broken off clean. What I did was get some super glue and put a small amount on the bottom the key and a little on the keyboard and glued it back on. The only other option is to buy a new keyboard, you can find them pretty cheap on the web.

Don't foget to rate this solution with 4 stars.

If you have a sticky key that you know of you may have a couple that you haven't noticed. The number 2 key sticking usually means something was spilled on it at one time.If nothing is spilled you will only see the keys at the sides act up and usually the longer or larger ones. These act up from not hitting them straight but at an angle.

The next time it does this try thumping the keyboard to jar stuck keys loose. The key may look ok but is stuck just enough to do this. You just need to flick a finger at the keyboard to knock them loose. You may have to do this a few times before it dislodges the offender. On a normal keyboard you flip it over and knock on the back like knocking on a door to do this. On a laptop you can't hit it as hard.

If the keyboard keeps doing this your option is to replace it. Depending on the make and model a new laptop keyboard is about $45-$75 and is installed in a few minutes.

My Logitech keyboard worked perfectly last week, but when I came back from my friend (I had my keyboard there, for the third time) it didn't work perfectly after 1 day, it started typing randomly but when...

When my logtch does that is usally is a stuck key. It can also be a low battery or the antenna is too close or too far away.

Most of the time its a stuck key. turn it upside down and knock on it like you are knocking on a door. that usually will jar the keey loose. you may be able to find the stuck key by pushing on them and see which one doesn;t pop back or feel right. Don;t try to pry it loose do the knock.

If the battery has just enough power left you can get some wired things happening but usually it just stops working.

Move the antenna so that it is about a foot away and is clear line of sigt from the keyboard to the antenna. You may want to reset or reconnect using the button on the antenna and the bottom of the keyboard.

9 out of 10 times its a stuck key.

Back space key seems to stick in the on position (electronically not physically)when pressed and released. If the key pad is removed and the backspace pressed with a pen it seems to work normally.

that happens when the spring/switch of the specific key go bad, normally in such cases the entire keypad have to be changed but if you are lucky then it is possible that only one key will be changed.... so without wasting time get it repaired from some professional
