Question about NEC MultiSync LCD1830 18.1" LCD Monitor
If ya can get the parts easily then it's NOT too hard to replace the "Back light" there isn't too much inside these monitors, generally there are 3 main parts the LCD and it's electronics, a Video interface for Monitor - PC,and the Power Supply Unit, (PSU). I have found that a VERY high percentage of problems with Monitors like this are in the PSU, and generally it is faulty, Electrolytic Capacitors... Personally unless it was an "Easy Fix" I would opt for another unit with a 3 year warrenty...
