Question about U-Line 15R Compact Refrigerator

1 Answer

Our Chefmate compact refrigerator is being used in the cab of our 18 wheeler. It is less than 3 months old. It still runs but doesn't get cold. What would cause this after such a short time?

The coils might need blowing out or it might need a tiny shot of freon

Hi erik
My first point of call would be to clean the spark plug, it could have gotten corroded while the bike has been standing. Hope this helps.

My 1.7 cu ft Chefmate refrigerator stopped cooling. It's less than a year old and sits in an office (clean and climate controlled). I tried unplugging it and restarting it with no success. Any ideas?

Does not get cold, keeps on running. Only a 18

Might need a few ounces of R134a freon. You can get the freon at the dollar store. You need an A-1 tap, sand paper, a charging hose, and a can tap. 1/4th of a 12 ounce can is about all you needs to make that dude chill out once more. Sand down the larger suction line or compressor ear and attach the tap, Open the can and SLOWLY let a little bit in at a time. If the ear frosts up you is going to overchargeville which will wreck the flow and plug the unit p.

Chefmate cooler has a very noisy fan.

Good day,
If the noise is a current problem, and did not exist from new, then the motor bearings are bad, and the motor needs replaced regardless of age.
Note: LG chose not to allow appliance parts houses to carry their parts. Sad, however, you may be able to remove it and go to an appliance parts house and get a decent match. In fact, it may be a better motor.

Failing that, contact your selling dealer to purchase the new motor.

Emerson Compact Refrigerator not cold.

Make sure the condenser fan is running, it is located near the compressor and blows across the condensing coils, and make sure the coils are clean. Compressors usually do get pretty hot though. And make sure all you fans are running in the inside

Fan on my 564 cooler only works intermittingly allowing milk to go bad and meat products to spoil. i carry this unit in truck (18 wheeler) and is exposed to quite a rough ride at times. can't afford to...

Do you find water in the bottom of the unit?

Here are some things you can try.

Keep it off the floor a few inches. Use foam or wood blocks or strips.

Keep the inside dry. If ice forms on the cooling unit, it will stop the fan. If this happens, you can defrost it by unplugging it for a short time. Dry the inside good.

Keep the outside fan and heat sink clean. Use the "canned air" and blow off the fan and heat sink.

You can take off the fan covers and remove the fan units ( use care the fans ar easy to damage) Pull the stickers off the back a put a drop of very light lube. Put it all back together and should work.

When you get tired of doing this every month, or the unit fails. Go by a koolatron unit. Better unit, less trouble. Only one moving part. And if it need replacemnt, most truck stops have them.

Chefmate mini fridge no more

OK If this is a U-line refrigerator. Is the compressor running? The Fan? If both are running then you will have a sealed system issue. If nothing is running then it goes to the thermostat. Bypass the 2 wires from the thermostat to see if it runs.Yes, then replace the thermostat.

Refrigerator does not work. Does not get cold.

Make sure the outlet is working. Maybe try an extension cord. Is it shut off inside? Does the light come on?

Chefmate compact refrigerator

Is anything running? IF your fan and compressor are running then you need a service tech to look at the sealed system. If nothing is running then it may be a bad thermostat.
