It is not possible to open a MS office application and a Zip file in SE K550i. But I think there are some java applications for opening MS Office filez and zip filez; I'vent tried them though they will not be pretty much useable in K550i. For better application support in ur mobile upgrade ur mobile phone to some high-end gadgets like windows mobile.

Recover xlsx file damaged

For xlsx files, they are actually a group of files compressed in Zip file format. Therefore, sometimes, if the corruption is only caused by the Zip file, then you can use Zip repair tools such as WinRAR to repair the file, as follows:

1. Assuming the corrupt Excel file is a.xlsx, then you need to rename it to a.zip
2. Start WinRAR, go to "Tools > Repair Archive" to repair a.zip and generated a fixed file a_fixed.zip.
3. Rename a_fixed.zip back to a_fixed.xlsx
4. Using Excel to open a_fixed.xlsx.

Linkid 104288 Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033

Hi Vasava,
Before solving your problem.
Q.1. Is it only happening for this single document? Try to open other documents too. If you can open other word docs, you can eliminate the issue with Win Word application problem. The problem is in your document itself. If you can't open any other word docs, than this is the application problem.
Q.2 This is for Win Word application problem. Can you find "Microsoft Office Application Recovery" under "Start menu-->All Program-->Microsoft Office-->Microsoft Office Tools". Try recovering your application with this tool. It solve my problem with Ms Excel.
Q.3 Do you have Ms Office setup cd with you. This is if the above 2 fails. You will need to reinstall Ms Office.

My guess for you problem is, you have a defected document file.
Please try the above and let me know, if I can help further.

Microsoft office 2007 is in a zipfile on my desktop. I now need to figure out how to install it from the zip file.

Hi Wendy

MICROSOFT OFFICE 2007 ZIP FILE ACCESS

You do not say anything about the Product ID, Licencing and Activation issues associated with installing MS Office 2007 or indeed where you obtained this Zip File from.

An application stored in a Zip File, requires a file compression/decompression utility such as Win Zip or 7Zip. If one of these utilities is installed on your computer and the MS Office application is stored in Zip File, then double clicking on the Zip File would automatically engage the unzipping utility and unzip and present the unzipped files in a dialogue box. Double clicking on on the setup file (indentifiable as a file named Setup.exe, labelled Application and with a distinctly large File Size) should start the installation process of the, hopefully uncorrupted, MS Office 2007 program.

http://www.winzip.com/downwz.htm

http://www.7-zip.org/

Microsoft have withdrawn downloads and direct sales of MS Office 2007applications, the only remaining support services being updates and security patches during Automatic Updates. Any MS Office Product Key, Product ID or Activation Code obtained anywhere on the internet is likely to be pre-used, pre-activated or pre-registered with Microsoft or some combination of the three. The resulting danger and difficulties of functionality and update restrictions and unauthorised user usage limitations by Microsoft are highly probable.

Here are some constructive, useful, helpful, practical options to consider instead.

One option is to download MS Office 2010 Pro 60-Day Trial and install it, carefully following each step.

Go to:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try

If you do not want to buy or cannot afford a full, licensed copy of MS Office 2007 and/or are willing to or prefer to pursue downloading options, please consider the latest version of free, genuine, similarly comprehensive Office Suite applications - OpenOffice and LibreOffice- downloadable free, from their original sources, at:

www.openoffice.org

http://www.libreoffice.org/

You can use OpenOffice or LibreOffice simultaneously with MS Office 2010 60-Day Trial. If you delete MS Office 2010 60-Day Trial, well before the 60 day expiry date, and Remove All Components of it from Add or Remove Programs (or its equivalent in your Operating System) and Restart before downloading and installing it again, it is usually possible to enter into further 60 Day trial periods.

If you remain unable to reconcile the software you have with its correct matching Licence and yet are determined to continue using the full version of MS Office 2007, then you will almost certainly have to purchase a full, genuine, unused licensed copy of the software from a reputable, reliable supplier, such as Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_19?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ms+office+2007+professional&sprefix=ms+office+2007+prof

Online offers of free downloads of MS Office products are probably almost universally either not genuine, illegal, unlicensed or pre-used licence versions, downloadable only from illicit download sites or sites that are masquerading non-existent MS Office products as camouflage for the marketing of other (often unrelated) software, products or services. Even if you do succeed in finding a Product ID or download site that seems to work for MS Office 2007, you will still have to purchase a separate, genuine, unused Activation Code for the product before you can successfully install it, use it with confidence, register it, activate it and download and benefit from Updates and Security Patches for it from Microsoft.

I hope this helps.
