Sirius SIU401-23 range hood - thermal fuse location / replacement

Yes it does have a thermal fuse

Cooking that generates flame is not recommended as this
equipped with a thermal overload that will shut down the motor if it
senses excessive heat. frying, oil in the pan can easily overheat and ignite. Heat oil slowly in an appropriately (covering the entire burner) to reduce the risk of boiling over and burning.

Maker details are on Page 1. The thermal cutouts, normally reset. It will be in the duct near the fan.

Not much else on it

Sirius range hoods SU22. 2 blower speed not working anymore ( speed 3&4)

Before you contact a tech to look at it, try turning off and on the fuse on your fuse panel for your range hood. Other units (Kitchenaid) can be reset this way.

Please post if that doesn't resolve the issue.

Hood has a remote blower (VTR1400Q). Only working on MED and HIGH setting.

See if it has a blower motor resistor(controls speeds) and replace it.
Look up model at repairclinic.com & see it the resistor is a listed part. See link, go to repair help by model number. Forget it. I just checked the only part they sell is the motor for $267. You can buy a new hood for that.

How do you change the blower assembly

Just drop it off the wall. Very easy. Take the flue covers off and the glass. Then just dismount it. It's not a blower. It is an exhaust canopy. The fan or motor is usually the last to fail unless you have had something fall inside and break the fan.

I have a viking range hood and the blower has stopped working. the motor hums when the switch is on but no longer runs the exhaust fan. I plugged it directly in to test if the switch was the issue and it...

Had same problem with the Viking PV300001. Motor would hum but did not spin. Fixed it by changing the 5uf capacitor, which required removing the motor/fan assembly (loosen one wingnut + two barrel nuts)

Yes, I am on my third motor in a SU 4/ Sirius is brutal to deal with. All of the motors are **** and they are always back ordered. here in Canada the distributer change around 2008. They are through Maroline and a crappy company to deal with unlike the othe people in Oakville. Service sucks for such an expensive and beautiful stainless hood. Good luck and the motor does come off...

Thermador Blower Motor Not Starting

to check capacitor disconnect power to unit. remove wires coming from the capacitor making sure to note where they were connected. Using the ohms setting on your multimeter place one lead on each of the two post. Watch carefully and if the capacitor is good your meter will spike for a second then return to zero. IF nothing happens capacitor is bad. Good luck. Kevin
