Question about Ebac HD880 Dehumidifier
I have an HD980 which has worked fine for years. The only problem with it
was that the plastic door and door catch were so flimsy that they broke after a few removals and replacements of the tank. My solution was to tape the door permanently shut by winding a belt of household tape around the midriff of the machine and lead the water out through a plastic tube attached to the pip in the bottom of the tank. It was, of course, essential to check that the microswitches were activated by making the door really tightly closed.
My question is... has the door arrangement been improved in the new models? Not everyone wants to use a tube.
Unfortunately, Ebac has discontinued their HD line at the moment. The only other bucket style dehumidifier that they currently manufacuter is the CD35 dehumidifier.
