Re: air conditioner

The lightening may of caused a surge and your unit may have it's own protector that resets and comes back on after a time frame programed into it.

Re: air conditioner

There is a reset button, (on the cord I think) which must be unplugged before pressing. Failing that, there is a fuse which may need to be replaced. If the reset doesn't do it, call 866-MAYTAG1 and they'll get you going from there.

It's most likely your thermostat the one up front that plugs in under your control panel. Had one do the same thing replaced it now works perfect.

We have a Frigidaire 2 ton heat pump. The condenser fan hums loudly but does not turn. It was running well until a strong rain storm with thunder and lightening. This is the 4th breakdown, all with...

yes its worth fixing!!!! Take something and give the fan a spin if it starts then you know its your capacitor that run the fan motor if it does not start then it is your fan motor. It will be cheaper to fix this unit then it is to buy a new one!!!!

Okay, first let me set up the situation. The A/C had been working fine, no problems, then night before last we had a storm and the electric went out. It would come on for a minute or two then go out again....

Go out there to the outside unit and kill the power.
Find the Capacitor and look for a swelling or leaky case.themobilian_2677.jpgthemobilian_2678.jpg
That thang shuting on and off quickly several times coulda done in that cap.

Re: Kenmore Plasmaire air conditioner; suddenly stopped working during night. Motor will initially turn on but no air coming through, then will stop

Most likely you have a bad fan,did you have a storm or lighting strike or power drop / outage .
These type of things can cause trouble with a weak electrical part - not know the age of the Unit - you claim it happen in the middle of the night - if the fan Humms and cut outit could be a cap. that helps you fan start - but the fan is damaged if it tryed to start time and time again . Call service if the unit is worth it .

My maytag m7y12f2a stopped working is their any reset buttons

All devices that have circuit boards or digital displays need a surge protector or turn off during storms. If none of the functions or dispays don't come up, there may be an inline fuse on the panel. More than likely the board or transformer is fried. For that you need a Tech.
