Trying to bridge computer to grandsteam (to get phone power). when I put in ip address given through the phone it brings me to westell 7500 modem instead. phone power told me shut modem off and take Lan line for grandstream and connect it to the wireless computer. When I do that I am offline so nothing happens when I plug in the ip address. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to get my phone up for 2 weeks now.
Re: bridge computer to grandstream (for phone power)
"shut modem off and take Lan line for grandstream and connect it to the wireless computer " This clearly says 1.Shut off your modem 2. Use LAN cable to hook up your Phone Router to Lan port of your computer / or DSL Modem. READ the Instructions carefully or call support.
Vonage has a phone adapter that hooks via LAN cable to DSL Modem. but it can also be used in a pc directly when extra LAN port is available or ICS is enabled. - Kepp it simple..

IP address conflict occurs when two or more computers on the same LAN network end up with the same IP address. When this occurs, both computers end up not being able to connect to network. There are a few ways in which this problem can be fixed. If it is Static IP request your ISP for a change of IP.If it is a Dynamic IP you can try resetting your modem by switching ON and OFF the modem or open the command prompt and type "ipconfig /release," which dumps the automatic address it had, and then "ipconfig /renew," which gets a new address. To check for the change in IP you can visit http://www.ip-details.com which gives your public IP when you visit the site. In order for you to have internet access please note of the following: 1. You have Internet service provider 2. Have the modem box provided by your ISP plugged in to the wall jack with the telephone cord came with the box. 3. Connect your modem to your computer with the yellow cord came with the box. 4. Make sure to have your username and password given to you by your ISP in order for you to configure your modem. 5. Check the light status of the box make sure that dsl light is steady green, lan light steady green, internet light might be in steady red or off since its not uet configured. 6. Access configuration of your modem from you computer using the IP address. You can find the IP address at the bottom part of the modem. If you cant locate Ip Address perform this: from your computer go to start menu then go to run then type CMD and press enter. A black window will come up and from that window type in ipconfig then press enter. It will provide you the IP address that looks like this 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0. Get that IP address and type in to the Inrnet explorer address bar and hit enter. 7. It will ask you to login from there type in the username and password normally the default config of the modem is the credential like username is admin and the password is either admin also. 8. From the modem config page run through the steps and that's it... if you have questions or concern please send me message for me to assist you further.
The voicemail passcode. It's a 5215. I read the manual that says you can reset passwords by putting the phone's IP address into your web browser, but that just gives me "page cannot be displayed". Don't know what to do next.
