If the check engine light is on, you have a code. You need to scan the system to retrieve the code. Many auto parts places will scan for free. Get the code, and post it here, it will likely contain pertinent information.
You need to stop in at an Auto Zone store,When the check engine light comes on, They will check engine codes for free. The computer is receiving info from a sensor that is malfunctioning,Which could be your limited power.
have to turn'd the key 2 and pressed button. also when you changed the battery in remote there is a little black square inside the key. that turns of the immobiliser has its own code that is keyed to your car if that part is missing you willl not be able to start engine..
If the light comes on after you start it than there is a problem with the Passlock system. You will need to pull trouble codes to find out what is going on. You will need a high end scan tool to do this. The good news is Passlock system is somewhat disabled when the light is on and there shouldn't be any issues getting the engine to start. The bad news is if the battery goes dead or it is disconnected the vehicle will likely no longer start. So its a good idea to get this resolved as soon as possible.
The problem you have described do not sound remote start related. A remote start unit does not have the ability to alter the RPM. The remote start system only replicates the process of turning on the ignition, starting the engine and keeping it running for a predetermined length of time. The heater temperature problem should not be remote starter related either. As for the day time running lights, although rare, if wired inproperly there is the possibility that the remote starter has caused it to fail. This will have to be determined by a qualified technician.
It helps to know what kind of car you have even the year makes a difference GM cars with the chip in the key have two small white wires coming off the lock cylinder that break. Then you need a lock cylinder rekeyed to your old key. The code is in the chip. Newer GM cars can go though a security reset that involves turning the key on for 5 minuetes or more after a try to crank and the light goes out then turn the key off wait a second or two and turn it back on, the light will come on , in about the same amount of time the light will go out and again turn the key off then back on light on wait again then this time when the light goes out turn it off then back on and start the car the light will come on and the cars running with out a security proble it'll go right back out . This will happen if the car doesnt reconize the key and repeated attemps are made to start the car with the wrong key that just happens to turn the lock. As you found out if you try it enought with the right key it'll start and the light will stay on
