How to disable bios password on toshiba tecra A11-15Z laptop

The computer needs to be opened up and the mother board small round battery removed with the lap top battery out of this unit threw the complete process should now external power be plugged in or battery installed. After it is open remove the small round very shiny chrome battery in a holder after removal leave it out 10 seconds. Reinstall it then put it together enough to boot it up this clears the CMOS memory and will allow you to then enter the BIOS set up. Please remember to rate my solution and leave testimonial this is how i earn my accomplishments. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The BIOS password cannot be bypassed or disable. You need to know the password to reset it. If you don't know the password then you will need to physically reset it.

Here's a video on how to reset it.

WARNING:
If your not sure how to do it. Take it to the nearest computer repair center.

Hello Sir,

I'm sorry to say but there is no combination characters we could enter to reset that password. I support Toshiba laptops but with software only. That issue have considered a hardware problem. That password can only be reset if you know the password, if not you need to have someone look at it, because there is some button on the motherboard need to be clicked on.

Hi I have a satellite l30-134 and I am unable to boot the laptop without the request for a bios password, I have tried everything I know can you help with some suggestions please, I can not even boot off...

Power on password. You will not be able to boot from anything until you disable this, even removing the CMOS battery wil not work.

Options are:

1.) Email Toshiba and get them to send you an unlock code
2.) Try visiting Dogberts site of reverese engineersing for his brute force pass cracker

If you feel confident, on this laptop there is a way of removing the password, I take no responsibility iof it goes wrong.

Remove the Ram module cover
Under the ram modules there are two contacts marked C88 and an X near them
Touch the two contacts with a screwdriver and power up the laptop, the bios screen should now go and you can access the laptop.

Can't get into BIOS on my Toshiba Laptop

Hi
No manufacturers password that I have ever heard of but you can remove your keyboard and disconnect the mother board (BIOS) battery. Leave it disconnected for a few minutes. When reconnected the password should be gone. A few laptops actually have a jumper to do this.

Sounds like a BIOS password. Unless you know the password it is very difficult to recover it.

Issue

The computer models listed above may display a "Password =" prompt when the computer is turned on, even though no power-on password has been set. If this happens, there is no password that will satisfy the password request. If the computer is turned off and back on again, it is very likely that the same password prompt will appear. The computer will be unusable until this problem is fixed.

If the problem has not happened yet, you can prevent it from happening in the future by upgrading the BIOS to the newest version.

The occurrence of this problem on any particular computer is unpredictable -- it may never happen, but it could happen any time that the computer is turned on. If this problem does occur, it will be necessary to send the computer to a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider, who will fix the problem at no charge to you.

Resolution

If this problem has not yet occurred on your computer, then click the following link to download and install BIOS version 1.40. This BIOS displays a power-on password prompt only when a power-on password has actually been set via the BIOS Setup program.

You may also browse for a newer version of the computer's BIOS at pcsupport.toshiba.com.

For more help, see Support Bulletin 98081213 Obtaining downloads and support docs from the Toshiba Support website.

If the problem has already occurred on your computer, then please make arrangements with a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider to have this problem fixed at no charge. To locate a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider (ASP), please visit Toshiba's Global ASP Locator at http://pcrepair.toshiba.com

BTW, I've heard that this only happens when you boot up on battery power.

Maybe you can confirm this...
