The battery compartment is located right at the bottom of the cooker on the front, slightly to the left. It's a little compartment that houses a aa battery. it's unclips on the right hand side. hope this helps

The ignition continues after gas lights on new world elegance/cooker and grill

The igniter will glow orange while the oven is on. This is NORMAL. If it went out the burner would not come back on when the thermostat calls for heat .

My newworld newhome cooker's ignition does not work. Please could you tell me where the battery goes as I cannot find it.

The battery is in a case (plastic holder) left hand side right near the floor in the plinth, opening the oven door will make it easier to see. (Assuming I have the correct model)

Battery igniter

If you have an electric igniter, you need to locate where on the side of the grill the battery (e.g. AA size) that generates the electricity for the igniter is located. Replace the battery, and assure the contacts are cleaned (as they may have corrosion if grill located outside). Then check where the ground of the igniter is connected to the grill. I unscrewed the screw where the ground was located, cleaned off the corrosion with a fine sandpaper, then reconnected it to a new screw on the cabinet.
