My mobile is automatically switched off and on with in some seconds but daily 2 to 3 times wats the prblm my mobile no is 5220

Automatic switch off & on problem, i think it's a malfunctioning of power switch.and second think is that Mobile internal memory is full so when you switch on the mobile it hangs and switches off after 2 please check your phone internal memeory.

I have a Humminbird fishfinder 525. It goes directly in simulation mode and says: No svinger connected... What could be the problem?

If the transducer is disconnected, it will automatically go into Demo Mode.

If you do have the transducer connected, but the boat isn't in the water, the unit knows there is no water and after a few seconds, switches to Demo mode.

Not sure what a 'svinger' is, but if you need more help, just ask. I can also edit the message and change 'svinger' to something else.

I have had both the Humminbird 798 and also the 1198HD. They are great pieces of kit on the water. The 525 is entry level.

How do i recalibrate the st4000 tiller for the starboard side

Hi Tina!

The ST 4000 is factory default to the starboard side. If you require a port side mount, see chapter 7 of the manual to which I have provided a link below. (3.16 MB) About halfway down the page.

The text reads as follows:


Press +1 and -1 keys together for five seconds.
The display will then show port or starboard and the phase of the autopilot will automatically change.
The control head will automatically revert back to its normal operation within 5 seconds.
Note: This should normally only be required if the actuator is port hand mounted.

Is there such a thing as a reset for the Autohelm WIND ST 50? I purchased a boat with one that showed proper wind angle but not speed. I removed the sender, greased both the wind vane and cuos. now

I assume you have an ST-50 or ST60 windvane setup. These are the calibration instructions from the unit manual for the ST-50. They are the same for the ST-60 and ST-60+ units.

Initial Calibration Windvane Alignment
Before the unit is used for navigational purposes the masthead transducer must be accurately aligned to the vessel. Before this procedure is carried out the windvane should be linearised as follows.

1 . Powerup lhe ST50 Plus Wind instrument.

2. Tum the vessel through two complete circles, making sure that the windvane remains in line with the wind -the instrument will automatically linearise the windvane.

1. Press and hold CAL for 2 seconds until CO is displayed by the LCD.

2. Press < > to move the pointer to the correct wind angle.- WIND
- Press < > once to move the pointer by 1 degree.
- Press < > for 1 second to move the pointer by 10 degrees/second.
The LCD will now display the applied correction.

3. Press and hold CAL for 2 seconds to exit and store windvane alignment.

Windspeed Unit Selection

1 . Press and hold CAL until Ul (Knots) or U2 (Meters/second is displayed.

2. Press CALwithin 8 seconds to change the windspeed units selection.

3. After 8 seconds the wind instrument returns to normal operation.

I'd use pre-made automotive battery cables as they'll easily handle the amperage output as well as already having the ends factory installed.

With your battery selector switch, you'll be able to charge one batt at a time.

You'll need a ground from one battery to the switch and a common ground cable connecting the ground of batt 1 to the ground of batt 2 to make this work. Each HOT lead from the batts goes to the switch.

I have a RV with a Perko switch. On the back side it says #1 and common and #2. How would I wire a second 12 volt battery in so that I can switch from 1 to 2 or all and off? Thank you \Murel

battery #1 to the number 1 post -- and battery #2 to the number 2 post and the common post is the out going power to the RV. this will let you go from 1 or 2 or BOTH and OFF.

Install your new start battery and connect it to the engine as normal. be sure to ground the additional battery to the others. Then install an automatic charge relay between the start battery and the common on the battery switch for the original pair of batteries. This will allow the engine to charge its own battery and whichever battery(s) you have selected on the dual position switch.

Try this, hard reset-FYI-This will delete saved data

1. Turn unit OFF-Press and hold the UP arrown key
2. Press power, unit will enter production keyboard test mode
3. Release the buttons
4. Press PWR/CLEAR key 7 times. (SYSTEM INFO SCREEN)
5. Press MENU/DOWN and unit will shut off

could be a lot of things. could be the audio chip. radio could be toast. its not something some one can tell you how to fix on fixya.

it needs a radio tech.

First question, is it under warranty? If the answer is yes go to and find an authorized repair center.

If not and you feel comfortable with electronics there are a number of things you can check yourself.
*The following is based off my experience with a KVH A7, proceed at your own risk.
Step 1 take the unit off the vehicle and place it upside down on a flat surface, I use a towel to minimize any scratching.
Step 2 take all the screws out from the bottom. There are quite a few and they are all hex heads.
Step 3 once all screws are out of the bottom carefully flip the unit and separate the top from the bottom. Note the 'Dome' does not remove at this point just the plastic around it.
Step 4 remove the 4 large phillips screws holding the 'Dome' on the satellite and remove the 'Dome'
**Disclaimer** you now have access to the electronics of the satellite, be careful! Take ESD precautions and stay grounded to avoid zapping a board.
Step 5 you will notice two electric motors. One that is attached to a large belt under the 'spinning' part that rotates the satellite and the second smaller motor controls the pitch of the satellite.
Step 6 I would start to inspect all parts and see if anything looks broke or out of place. You should be able to move the satellite around in a circular motion by hand without much resistance (there should be some from the engine). If it does not spin I would check the bottom belt and or the bearing track that the satellite spins on.

I would not advise taking the unit apart any farther. Generally most problems I have seen that are not board related are pretty obvious when you get the top off. The KVH family of satellites seem to be the only piece of electronics in the world that there is no good on-line support or discussions for.
