I have got a single desktop PC running Slackware 10 with an onboard ethernet connection and USB.
From what I have read it looks like using ethernet is a simpler way of getting connected. So I am thinking of buying a D-Link DSL-300T modem/ethernet interface. Is this a reasonable choice?
In preparation for the connection I have been reading around and am getting increasingly confused on what I need to do to get ADSL working. I think part of the problem is that I am reading it all in the abstract and it might (I hope) be less complicated than it sounds when the time comes. But it doesn't seem like a simple 'connect it all together and it will work' and that software needs to be set up.
Are there any idiot proof instructions around on the internet, sort of an 'ADSL connection for Dummies'?
TIA
