My email was changed from sbcglobal.net to att.net and in the process I lost 185 messages from that address. I used to have sbc as my internet carrier. My email was through sbcglobal.net When we moved I...

Hi,
When a person is using the ISP (Internet Service Provider) for the e-mail, and that provider is changed, the e-mail goes with the provider. One cannot have a sbc e-mail account without sbc being the carrier.
One could contact sbc to find out if they could forward those unread messages to the ATT e-mail account.
Hot mail from Microsoft or G mail from google are supported by the Internet Browser, so those accounts will transfer from any different ISP.

Some email messages people are sending to my correct address are not reaching me. Where are they going?

People send messages from their computer to their ISP's mail-server -- compare to dropping an addressed letter into a US Postal Service mailbox.
Then, the ISP's mail-server tries to send the message to your ISP's mail-server -- compare to the US Postal Service transporting a bag of messages from the "source" city to the "target" city.
Hopefully, your ISP's mail-server is "accepting" messages from the other ISP. This can take a while -- imagine the volume of E-mail from HOTMAIL customers to YAHOO customers!

Then, your computer tries to "pull" the message from your ISP's mail-server onto your computer. Hopefully, this works.

Finally, your E-mail program may be doing "spam-filtering", and may put the incoming message into the 'Junk Mail' folder.
Have you looked in that folder?

So, there's lots of "opportunity" for messages to be "stuck" someplace. Without explicit details, and log-files from the sender's mail-server and your ISP's mail-server, it's impossible to be more precise.

I m sinding a message to my friends newly id but it is not sending the message from my id. why?

Please clarify the following to help us help you better:
1) Are you using the email client like Outlook/Thunderbird? If yes is this your first email you are sending? If not check the new Id if it is valid on www.centralops.net and click on Email Dossier.

If this is your first mail then be sure of your internet connection and smtp configuration.

2) Are you using and a web based mail? if yes then Could you indicate the Error message you are getting.

I hope this provides a tip to solving your problem.

Can't send email to sbcglobal.net address

AddressGuard is another powerful line of defense against spam:
  • Create disposable email addresses in a snap
  • Give them out when you don't want to give out your primary Yahoo! Mail address
  • Have messages delivered to your Inbox or a personal folder
  • Simply delete them if they start receiving spam
If the email receipiant has reported you as spam that is why you can't get through

you will have to call the receipiant and ask them to remove you from their spam list

Sending mails using asp.net

ASP.net is a programming environment, not a freaking e-mail MTA. If you knew why the transport connect failed, that would give you a clue how to fix your program. I imagine you are not; however, programming. Are you trying to use a .Net Mail program?

Stop calling for Sir, too; smart girls might hook you up, and then you'll be behind even if you can send e-mail. Which I also suspect; really, you should not.
