My laptop is working too slow

Most likely, the problem is that vista is a dog. i have the same laptop and shut off every security feature vista has, and it is still slow doing things that should be instantaneous, such as, windows explorer, opening notepad, searching, clicking on a folder within windows explorer... the monopoly microsoft inflicted on planet earth a professionally untested horrible operating system (they tested beta-versions with non-microsoft people who did not get paid for their services, what do you expect?)

so, what is the solution? i contacted acer which only now makes a cd with xp on it for their new models - not the old ones. the problem is that if you tried to install and low-level format using xp, some drivers are missing. it is probably cheaper to sell your present one on ebay, and buy a new acer laptop that has the xp cd...but make sure it has that cd!!
