Hopefully eMachines are consistent with their wiring/layout design, that being the case this diagram for T2898 (by benz18724) should point you in the right direction...

Alternatively compare the abbreviated pin symbols on the header to the motherboard and match them up.

How To Remove Front Panel For t5048 Emachines Tower

The eMachines T5048 Desktop PC, uses the NexGen 2 computer case.
(Also uses an Intel D102GGC2 motherboard)

1) http://www.hypermicro.com/mmhypermicrocom/images/CSEC004.JPG

The front panel is the Front Bezel.
It is removed by grasping the right side of it, and pulling out, G-E-N-T-L-Y

There Power On switch wires, Power On LED wires, USB front panel wires, Card Reader wires, etc., are still attached.

http://downloads.emachines.com/userguides/DesktopPC_UserGuide_en.pdf

(Page 47 - Removing the Front Bezel )

{ Note*
Usually there are plastic tabs formed out of the Front Panel, and they snap into slots in the metal computer case frame.

Usually 3 per side. They are flat, and have a hooked end.
They are pressed to the outside, or inside of the case, to release the hooked end away from the side of the slot.

LOOK at the tab. Look at the hooked end. SEE which direction THAT flat tab should be eased over to, in order to bring the hooked end away from the side of the slotted hole.

When the hooked end is in the middle of the slotted hole, the flat tab can then be eased OUT of the slotted hole.

DO NOT assume all tabs go in the same direction }

[ The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the wires from the Front Panel go to, (Except for the USB and Card Reader), is the Front Panel header.

This link shows you the Front Panel header pinout,

GOT THE INSIDES OF AN AMD ASUS BOARD AND A TOWER DESIGNED TO RUN GIGABYTE INTEL BOARD NEED HELP CAN I SPLIT THE FRONT PANEL WIRES AS AM UN SURE

okay, first of all no tower is designed for a specific mobo,so I imagine that the front panel connections are keyed one way and the mobo jumpers aren't the same. You can do 1 of two things you spend hours trying different connections and if your luckey get the thing to start. You could also go to the perspective websites and get the jumper layouts and match them that way.re-keying is never fun.My suggestion is to get a custom box w/ each and every wire is labled for the jumpers.I bought one last week for my g.f. for 16 bucks.GET A NEW CASE

Emachine front panel power switch

Here's the Support Link for your desktop. Look under User Guides, Hardware Reference. Also look on the motherboard for markings such as PW or PS and an indicator to where the wire goes.
