Do you have the cd that came with your computer? If so then try this:
1. Go to Control Panel/System/device manager
2. Look for the sound, video and game controllers. Click on the device (if any) and then right click and choose properties. In Device Status, does it say operating normally? If not, then go back to where y ou click on the device and right click again, choosing uninstall.
3. At the top of the window choose Action/Scan for Hardware Changes. It should locate your sound chip. Then follow the prompts. If it can't find the driver already on your computer, then get the Cd that came with your PC and follow the prompts to install the sound driver from there. Hopefully this will solve your problem.
