From the sounds of it you may have a corrupt file on your memory card. You need to get a memory card reader that you plug in your computer and it should have an option to "fix" the corrupt files.

Take out and put back in several times to clean the contacts on the SD card. You can download SD card file recovery software too.

Motorola rokr e8 error message

not even a MASTER RESET will resolve this issue most of the time. the only way to fix it is to perform a MASTER CLEAR. Before doing a master clear, make sure you save all contacts to your sim card and images, videos, etc to your memory card.

Motorola Krazor memory card

your phone may have a root folder limitation on how many it can see in the root , try creating a folder and dropping them into that.
or take all the songs off and use the phone to format/erase the card , then put the songs back and see it that helps.

Data cable

Do you have the i-tunes version or the mp3? At any rate, the songs must be saved onto the expadable memory card as the phone itself has a very limited internal memory (like 5megs) which will be blown away with just a couple songs. i suggest not going above 512MB for the mem card. any higher that that and it becomes unreliable (as-in reformatting itself and deleting all your stuff). Motorola.com has a program called Motorola Phone Tools that works very well with the slvr too.
