Question about Motorola HT1000, MTS2000, MTX8000/9000 Compatible 2 Way Radio Battery Eliminator
Here is a link to a very good explanation: http://www.genave.com/dtmf.htm
Typically in radio we see DTMF used two ways:
1) To turn a device on and off. Such as irrigation systems on a golf course. The golf course groundskeeper can simply use the DTMF keypad on his radio to type in the appropriate code to turn the sprinklers on or off.
2) When linked with the appropriate repeater and equipment, it can be linked to a land line telephone system, and then make and receive calls.
