Denon AVR -1604 Powers off after 3 seconds

Hi, I was wondering where I can start checking to fix the above unit that powers off after 3 seconds. I suspect that the fault is either within the the power side or amp output.

Thanks

Dave

Hi, I have a similar problem with Denon AVR-1604. Also switches off after a few seconds. On other sites, I also read that 7815 or 7915 regulator could be the root cause. However, in order to investigate this, first I have to be able to remove them, and I don't see immediately how I can remove PCB in an easy way. Can someone help me?

Check in the amp section for a short on the output transistors. It may need a resistor or two also. I doubt that it would be in the power supply.

Hi, I have a Denon arv1500 with a bad tuner. If you can't get yours fixed, would you be interested in selling it--I'd use it for parts.
If you still have it, and would be willing to sell it, let me know! denny@dennyls.com

Powers turns on then off

See: http://www.denon.ca/hapdfs/avr2105mane.pdf, page 72. In my case, the problem was a connector between my receiver and television. I unplugged it from my receiver and it now works.
