A little blow by is normal. Make sure the oil level is correct. If there is excessive blow by, then check the reed valve under the valve cover. It may be damaged or loose.

Ran perfect last yr , gas was stale drained carb bowl and replaced gas it started up right away then cuople mins later it started blowing oil out of the oil over flow tube

Sounds like the Needle valve in the carburetor is stuck 'down' letting gas continually run from gas tank into carb. When the valve can't go up (Close) gas will run past the carburetor and into the crank case I bet your oil is full of gas. Check oil level see if it is overfull

10 hp tecumseh throwing oil out the breather tube

There is excessive blow- by from the combustion process which indicates worn rings /broken rings or scored bore (engine worn out or dusted). Check oil level in sump as excessive oil will also cause the problem

Breather tube throwing oil into carb

Oil coming via the engine breather can mean a worn engine, it could be as simple as an over filled sump, or the breather valve itself is not working, the breather valve allows the crankcase pressure out of the engine.

We have Tecumseh TSH 359/22272/81 motor on a Stiga snowblower. It did start and work but blew most of the oil out. Now it wont start. Where can I find new motor or parts, motor seems to have two axels...

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

The fact that the engine blew out most of the oil during normal operation is an indication that there is a problem with the crankcase breather. You can usually resolve this by removing the breather from the side of the engine at the base of the valves and cleaning it with engine degreaser and carb cleaner. What I think happened was there was a bit of condensation in your breather and it FROZE in the closed position forcing the crank case to over-pressurize and porting the oil into the breather.

If by chance you over-serviced the engine oil before the last operation it will present the symptom you describe. Also if you tipped the unit more than 30 degrees.

It most likely will not start now from an oil fouled plug.

You can use this manual for locating "How to" repair your engine:
http://www.cpdonline.com/692509.pdf

Here is what the service manual says on page 82.

BREATHER PASSING OIL

1. Check the oil level, make sure the engine is not overfilled. Also verify that the viscosity rating on the container of

the oil being used is to specification.

2. Check the angle of operation. Avoid prolonged use at a severe angle.

3. Check the engine R.P.M. setting for excessive R.P.M. using a vibratach or other tachometer and compare it to the

R.P.M. settings found on microfiche card # 30 according to the engine model and specification number. Adjust the

high and low R.P.M. as necessary.

4. Check for leaking or damaged gaskets, seals, or "O"-rings. External leaks may not be evident; however, the leak

may prevent the engine from achieving a partial crankcase vacuum.

5. Check the breather for damage, dirty condition, or improper installation. The oil return hole(s) must face down.

6. Check the engine compression using a compression tester. If the engine has weak compression, determine the

cause of weak compression: worn rings, leaking head gasket, or leaking valves. Follow the compression tester's
procedure.

I can help more... the engine number you passed did not cross.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Oil blows out of tube

You either have a head gasket going bad or your piston rings are shot which causes air to go down into the crankcase building up pressure which exits through the breather tube.

Blowing oil on an 8HP craftsman snowblower

That is a breather tube, I can't picture the motor off the top of my head but that tube is either connected to the valve cover or if the tube seems to go up over the motor then that tube goes down into the motor. If it's the one thats connected to the valve cover then it's possible there is to much oil in the valve box. If it's the one that seems to go up over the top and in then if your just alittle to much over full you'll get oil out of that tube cause that tube sits alittle above the oil level. If your oil level is right on the line then I would run it for a bit then check the oil level. If the level is still good then you should be ok but keep an eye on it if it continues to blow oil out I would take it in to get looked at futher.
