The Philips Media Converter is not capable of converting an entire DVD - you will have to acquire video editing software, and then break up the DVD files into 15-minute chunks, and then convert each chunk.

Driver!

Have you downloaded Widows Media Player 11? That should fix it. If not, download sa6025_97_pal_eng from http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/s/sa6025_97/ and run it.

How do i transfer dvds via my computer to my archos404 mp4 player?

First copy the files from the DVD to the computer. Insert DVd, and drag files to desktop. then run the files through the Archos media converter. A typical DVD is about 700MB, so you won't be able to fit many on there.

Make sure the Philips Device Manager has been installed, and run it.
Press and hold the [VOL+] button on the player whilst connecting to the PC. Device Manager will go into repair mode. Follow the on-screen prompts. This will format the player, removing all files, and re-flash the firmware.

When finished you will need to re-start the player once, and a second time when it shuts down.

Open Windows Media Player. Go to the Tools menu and select options. (You may need to right click the top bar to access the Tools menu.)
Click the Rip Music tab. Select the file type you wish to use (SA6025 supports .MP3 and .WMA)
Make sure the "Copy protect music" box is not ticked.
Click apply then ok to return to the main program.

Insert your CD, and select the tracks you wish to transfer and click "Rip".

Your CD will be converted and saved in the My Music folder.

When it has finished transfer the files to your player using the Sync option.

Archos 605 copying films from DVD to the player

If change the setting of the 605 to "hard disk" then a PC sees the 605 as a hard disc when connected using the usb lead. You can then copy and paste files directly to the 605..

My mp3 payer is si stupid

The device itself is not faulty. This is Microsoft's fault, not Philips'. Some of the songs may have Digital Rights Management (DRM) encoding that the SA6025 will not support. You can right click on the trouble music file, select "Properties," and select the License or Digital Right tab - look for the msg: This file is not copyright protected. Find out if the songs that CAN'T be transferred have this message. If so, then click on acquire digital rights (or some variant of that phrase). If the files tha CAN'T be transferred DO have Digital rights protection, then you must save the files in a different format that is stripped of DRM encryption.

Before going through ths elaborate process, start simple. Disconenct the GoGear from the computer, let the goGear upate, and then reconnect the goGear to the computer and resync - if that fails, pay attention to the above paragraph.

If the above is not helpful, send me a reply through the FixYa website (not my personal e-mail address) and I can give you additional information.

DVD to Zuine

just google "Zune video converter" to get ahold of a converter... the first link is usually fine...

After you get the conversion you just toss the converted file into a folder monitored by the Zune software and it will pick it up automatically. From there you right click the name of the file in the Zune software and click "transfer to zune"

There you go...
